Early Interventions
Early childhood intervention is designed to promote optimal development for young children with development delays and/or disabilities. Early intervention is an adequate step in helping further a child’s education outside of the natural environment such as their home, allowing children with disabilities to be assisted by individuals whom have studied how to properly help excel student learning. Family, schools, government, and teachers all make group efforts to ensure that no child is left behind and receive the same advantages as those who may not be on the spectrum or have any learning curves. Let us look and break the importance of each
role down to gain a better understanding as to why early intervention is important.
To start off we will investigate the importance of family. Of course, we all know why family is important but do we know why its important when it comes to early intervention? Let me tell you why! Family plays a huge role because this the environment that the child will spend majority of its time and years to come around. A lot of times parents are learning along the way how to help educate and lead their child so an early intervention provides a support and communication system that provides them with resources and help all around the board.
Leading into schools, schools play a major role in a child’s educational success and the board of trustees that will advocate and help ensure that they are able to receive free public education according to the Zero Reject concept. Teachers also play along side with the schools because they are the voice for the students who do not have the ability to speak for themselves. Without their hard work behind the scenes, we would not be able to have a way to create a solid foundation and support system to the children that need it the most.
Now to cover the importance of the government, the government has helped pass many acts and bills to help promote justice for special needs children to receive proper education and support. For example, The Early Childhood Special Education Assistance Act was passed in 1968 in favor to find services provided by local school districts for young children with disabilities. Early intervention is all in all a circuit that helps promote and maintain a healthy educational routine that provides disabled students with a support system that not only helps them but helps their parents to so that they are able to reach maximum success when it comes to education.
