Being the oldest child has had a huge impact on who I am today. I have to be responsible and make sure that my sisters have someone to look up to. My actions play a role on how I show off my responsibility. I am responsible in any shape, way, or form because I love it when everything around me is neat, clean, done on time, and organized. Being responsible is not an easy aspect especially when different thoughts go through people's minds when they hear the word. To most people, when they hear people mention the word responsible they often assume that they did something wrong. For example, when teachers say, "Who is responsible for this," people believe that someone has done something wrong. In my eyes, that is not how I see myself at all. Teachers usually tell me to watch the class if they step out because of my responsibility skills. I have learned that when someone trusts me or holds me responsible for something and I do not do it, I lose that person's trust and it would be very hard to get that trust back. When people hold me responsible, I take that as a compliment because they know that I am ...show more content... When I am at home I am a clean fanatic because I like everything around me to be neat and organized and look like that same way it was before. Besides cleanliness , I am very overprotective when it comes to my sisters. I always make sure my sisters do their homework as well as my homework on time. If they have projects I will make sure that I give them creative ideas since I have had the most experience. Also, I know that my parents realize that I am up and ready because they always leave me in charge when they leave us home alone. If my parents did not trust me or understand that I am capable enough for watching my sisters they would have never left me alone with them. Sometimes I am way too ahead, but I believe that if I am acting that way I am showing more care towards my Get more content on StudyHub.Vip
Being Responsible Essay: Being Irresponsible Being Responsible There are many things in this world that concern me. I am concerned about all the bad things that happen all around the world, such as crimes and natural disasters. However, what is on my mind is how irresponsible so many people are. Fortunately, I have not let the influence of others affect how responsible or not I am. I like to think that I am my own person. No one can make me a certain way. I am myself, and that is how I like it. Many people comment on how responsible I am, but sometimes not in a good way. They'll call me things like "goody–two–shoes" or "overachiever." They try to put me down for doing the right thing, just because that is not how they do things. Like I said though, I have not and will not let them influence me into being irresponsible. If there is something I need to get done, it definitely gets done. My ...show more content... When I obey them, they give me the respect that I want and deserve, and if I finish everything, they might even reward me with something random like letting me go out with friends or paying me. Responsibility really does pay off, literally. Also, I make sure not to hang out around people who are not the best influences. People who do drugs, steal, or make any other bad decisions I know I should not be around. I am not going to be a person that takes drugs and drinks alcohol. I want to be a responsible person and not let any of that take over my life. If anyone ever offers me to do any of those things, I will be responsible by simply saying no, and if they keep asking, I will just take them out of my life. I believe that responsibility is one of my good traits. Being responsible has a better chance of getting me somewhere in life than being irresponsible does. To get anywhere in life, people have to trust you and depend on you, and being irresponsible does not prove that anyone can depend on you. I honestly think that being responsible these days is a Get more content on StudyHub.Vip

Personal Responsibility Personal Responsibility by Stephen Bruce Foundations for General Education and Professional Success (Gen200) 04/15/2013 Dr. Annette Roter Although personal responsibility is a perception of ideas or standards established by society, personal success depends upon personal responsibility because it promotes accountability and also reflects on the accountability in our professional lives. Upholding personal responsibility is the key to success in any type of environment. It is the commitment to ourselves telling us to get out of bed to get ready for work or to go to class. On the other hand, personal responsibility is the acceptance of failure to accomplish the task that we are obligated to. As a college level student, we know ...show more content... The last element I want to discuss because I believe it is the most important concerning personal responsibility, is attitude. Possessing a positive attitude holds everything together. "Attitude represents that connection between mind , heart, and body" (Ursiny, DeMoss, & Ybaben, 2008). You can possess every other kind of quality and apply whatever kind of strategy you like but without a positive attitude you will get nowhere. Every day we come across conflict and deal with negative people who will try to make you feel less attractive, less intelligent, and lesser of just about everything. This kind of negativity spreads like wild fire. Refrain from too much exposure to this and keep in mind other people do not dictate the outcome of your life. Positive attitudes do not come easy though. It is a training process of the mind. Every day, the moment you open your eyes tell yourself this will be a good day full of learning and meeting new people and ask yourself "how will I better myself and those around me today?" Keep this type of thinking in mind and be the positive influence where ever you are and people to take notice. They will be more likely to help you, want to work with you and be wherever you are. Even if for nobody else, you owe it to yourself to have a positive attitude and to enjoy all endeavors of life. In conclusion, although personal responsibility is broad term used to describe a set of standards, by Get more content on StudyHub.Vip

People should be responsible for their own actions because they choose to make their own mistakes so they should take the consequences along with their actions. According to the article we can infer that in some places like Europe and South American countries even murder is forgiven if it was "a crime of passion." Which means if a person kills another person for love its ok but, it isn't right because if you take somebody's life you should suffer and take the consequences for your actions. What Is Responsibility To Act Responsibility to Act Should a bystander be held accountable or convicted for refusing to intervene on behalf of someone in danger? Is it their legal duty to act? This has been a hot topic of debate since 2009, and still continues to rage on today. Several states have laws which assert bystanders have a duty to act on behalf of someone in danger. However, these laws apply only under specific circumstances, and differ from state to state. Currently there are still no unified laws across the country relating to duty to act, which would ultimately set up a legal standard where all citizens in the United States would be held up to. If all other states followed the lead of Florida, Ohio, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and several other states ...show more content... Ohio currently has a Good Samaritan law, which entails "No person shall be liable in civil damages for administering emergency care or treatment at the scene of an emergency" (Carter). This law protects individuals if they help a person in danger, but they do not require a person to act. This does encourage people to assist, because they know they will not get in legal trouble if the situation goes south for who they are helping. If these laws were in place across the country, there could be a dramatic decrease in deaths in the presence bystanders, because of the comfort given to the spectators. The murder of Kitty Genovese in 1964 is one of the most famous cases regarding the duty to act debate. It gathered an immense amount of attention because of the severity of the murder and the significant number of bystanders. It is reported that 38 witnesses were all under the impression that someone else was going to report the crime , which they could all hear or see happening. Since, there were no laws in place in New York, the state the murder happened, the witnesses felt less of a draw to help because there was not a standard they were being held to. If a duty to act law was in place, each individual would feel more inclined to assist the person in danger, knowing that they could get in trouble with the law if they did not abet. Researchers have studied this case for years, trying to figure out why no one helped Get more content on StudyHub.Vip
What Does It Mean To Be Responsible Essay Responsibility means being responsible, or accountable for something within one's power, control, or management. We first need to be responsible for ourselves before we can be responsible for others. In learning to be more responsible it is important that we know our limitations. Being responsible is sign of having good character. Irresponsible people often break the rules, causing injury to themselves or others. Some examples of responsibility is being on time, being prepared, and managing your time wisely. The importance of being on time indicates that you honor your commitments and you can be responsible. It also shows that you have respect for other people and that you care as much about their time as your own. When you are late for appointments with people who value their time you have wasted their time, and there is a good chance that they will view you as rude, irresponsible and disrespectful. If you tell someone that you will meet them a certain time you have made a promise. And ...show more content... For example you are going to language class you have to get your binder, your pencil, and your book that means you are prepared. If you are missing any of these supplies for that particular class that means you are not prepared. If you are not prepared you will either lose points or deal with the consequences. So as you can see being prepared is a huge responsibility on you. Managing your time wisely is really important. Mentioning that time is passing by pretty fast so we have to use it in the best way possible. Let us say that you have a test to study for and the test is on Monday and today is Saturday. So you decide to play and hang out all Saturday and Sunday something comes up so you did not have enough time to study for your test. That means you did not manage your time wisely, so the better you manage your time the more things you can Get more content on StudyHub.Vip

Personal Responsibility Personal Responsibiliy Essay William Challenor Gen/200 12 Mar 2012 Felicia Winborne Personal Responsibility To be successful in college one must be personally responsible for their actions. Personal responsibility is having integrity, and taking accountability for his or her actions. Doing the right thing and making ethical choices will demonstrate being personally responsible and will result in a successful college experience. Personal responsibility is taking ownership of their thoughts and actions (Stockdale and Brockett, 2011). Personal responsibility to me is having integrity. What I mean by this is being trust worthy to do the right thing, all the time . For example, plagiarizing work, if someone is trustworthy they ...show more content... By organizing I can set the steps in each category, short, intermediate, and long term, with each step leading toward my ultimate long term goal . After all isn 't that what we all want, to set ourselves up to reach the ultimate long term goal. Once I have organized my goals, I will then prioritize them. I will rank all of my goals in the order in which I want to accomplish them. I will start with the most immediate goal first and work my way to my ultimate goal. For example, the most immediate goal for me is to obtain my degree. My next goal would be to retire from the Marine Corps once I have twenty years of service. My ultimate goal might be to retire by the time I am fifty five and move to a tropical area, whatever the goal is I will set myself up to reach it. By prioritizing my goals, my decision making will be made very easy based on the order in which I want to reach all of the goals that I have set. Next I will accept the responsibility of completing all of my assignments in a timely manner, which will enable me to reach one of my goals. Once the first goal is met then off to the next. By being personally responsibility and making the best decisions for me, I will ultimately reach the goals that I have set for myself. In concluding, personal responsibility to me is being true to yourself and sticking to your morals. Being accountable for your actions Get more content on StudyHub.Vip
Responsibility in the Army Responsibility is one of the most important things in the Army. Accountability is also a very important part of being in the army and it goes hand in hand with responsibility. I failed to maintain accountability of my weapon while at Yakima Training Center. This was not an example of being a responsible soldier. This essay will explain what happened and why I think responsibilty is so important in the US Army. I had set my weapon down in the tool room so that I can go grab a couple of things from one of the tricons. When I did this, I had lost visual contact of my weapon while it was unsecure. Because my weapon was unsecure, someone walking by saw it and had grabbed it. When I got back from the tricons, I had noticed that my weapon was ...show more content... I had lost accountability of my weapon and therefor failed the mission. I am disciplined, physically and mentally tough, trained and proficient in my warrior tasks and drills; This was not me being disciplined or mentally tough at all. I failed to be proficient in my tasks and drills by losing my weapon. I always maintain my arms, my equipment and myself; Maintaining my arms doesn 't just mean that I keep them in good working condition, it also means that I 'll maintain accountbility of them. By losing accountability of my weapon I was not maintaining my arms. I am an expert and I am a professional; As an expert and a professional, I am expected to have a certain degree of responsibility and accountability of myself, my actions, my equipment, and other soldiers. When you lose accountability of something, in this case my weapon, it is hard for others to see you as being a responsible soldier. If others dont see you as someone who can be responsible or accountable, it 's hard to be considered a professional by your fellow soldiers. I am an American Soldier; Being an American Soldier means living the Soldiers Creed. When you fail to live any part of the Soldiers Creed, you fail to maintain the image of an American Soldier. This can have a negative effect on the soldiers around you if they feel that you are creating a bad image for the rest of them. Duty; Doing Get more content on StudyHub.Vip

In many situations in my life, I have been personally accountable for my actions. Every part of being who I am has something to do with morality. Being responsible and accountable for what I do is something I take very personally. It is a key point in my personality and a critical part of being part of the US Army. Being accountable is something a lot of people typically avoid. In many instances of our lives, and in our country and our society, there are times where people aren't accountable and don't own up to what they're doing. Social and political problems are abound in this country from people not being accountable and responsible for what they do. Our country is full of instances, playing out everywhere, of people who make poor ...show more content... I also was a friendly, likeable guy. People weren't afraid of me or intimidated, and I respected their homes and was responsible enough to clean my work area before I headed out. To this day, there are people who want me to go work for them once my time is up in the Army. My bosses back then, as well as my customers, knew they could put me in hard working conditions and count on me to get things done. I worked in boiler rooms, on telephone poles and in cramped crawlspaces. They knew I was dedicated and responsible enough to get done anything that I had to. They also trusted me to be accountable in that when I had to go into someone's house and start drilling holes in walls, or digging trenches, that I wouldn't mess something up or punch a bunch of holes we didn't need. I was respectful of someone's house– even when they didn't mind, I still respected that. It gave people a good impression when you treat their home nice. It also generated compliments, which made it to my bosses and up the chain, and I got lots of thanks for that. When layoffs came, I was always held over– it was usually the unaccountable, lazy ones that got canned. Lying was also a big deal, as everyone messes up sometimes– but being honest about things not going your way is a lot better than lying and making excuses. Excuses and lies got people kicked off of job sites. Being honest gave me job security. When I was in Job Corps training to be an electrician I also know what Get more content on StudyHub.Vip

The notion of ethics deals with people's behaviors within a company. Social responsibility involves a company's moral obligations and the manner in which the organization makes its decisions. Although ethics and social responsibility are similar on a conceptual basis, each has its own unique characteristics that express their differences and its independence of the other. Ethics and social responsibility have to be present and coincide with one another for a business to be ethically sound. Ethics is the application of one's personal beliefs and the impact on how a person makes decisions regarding the relationships involving a company. The most common agents that involve a person's decisions are owners, employees, customers, clients, ...show more content... There is a fine line between what is ethically right or wrong with an action committed by an organization. According to Audi, "sometimes ethics is compromised without dishonesty but by deficiencies in clarity or candor or both" (Audi, 2009). Being dishonest and not telling the entire truth are examples of ethical dilemmas. On the contrary, social responsibility applies only to an organization or business, whereas ethics applies to people's behaviors and how the obligations determine whether an action is right or wrong. Social responsibility is the application of a set of ethics to a business or organization. Edwin Epstein's definition of corporate social responsibility supports the idea that corporate responsibility is ethically based in its decisions with the agents associated with the company. Epstein stated, "Corporate social responsibility relates primarily to achieving outcomes from organizational decisions concerning specific issues or problems which have beneficial rather than adverse effects upon pertinent corporate stakeholders" (Carroll, 1996). Social responsibility contains both the responsibility to discover employee misconduct while also maintaining good relationships with those outside of the business. According to Berenbeim, it is the corporation's responsibility to maintain those good relationships with the agents of interest paramount to the obligations to minimize the risk of employee misconduct (Berenbeim, Get more content on StudyHub.Vip

Definition Essay Responsibility Responsibility Page 1 What is the meaning of Responsibility? Definition Essay Karen Bannan Writing 101 Professor Leone January 30, 2011 Responsibility Page 2 The ultimate word in life is "responsibility". What is responsibility you ask? Responsibility is "doing the right thing ". Doing the right thing means living a life where every move or decision you make is all your own and you do things that will not harm others. It is a moral belief that as individuals we must behave ethical and be accountable for our actions, and be conscious of our decisions and the impact it has on society. In today's world I believe we have even more responsibilities then our ancestors. If we do not take responsibility for our actions ...show more content... So many people believe freedom means you have the right to do as you please, however, that is not 100% true. As soon as you stop taking responsibility for what you do in life, it is almost certain you will be doing things that will be harmful to others. This is why it is so important to have laws that society must abide by. As an example, let's say you are having a get together and you have you stereo on a little too loud. To you and the people attending your party the music is just fine, but to your neighbors it is entirely too loud and disruptive. Wouldn't you be a responsible person if you made sure that the music was loud enough for you and your guests to enjoy, but not too loud that it would annoy your neighbors? Responsibility Page 4 When one recognizes that they are 100% responsible for their life, they will soon see the great achievements that come with being a responsible person. Responsibility is a very valuable trait in all that we do. Taking responsibility for one's self leads to a more optimistic life and one is able to accomplish all that they want. Sometimes taking responsibility can be a very difficult thing, but in the end one is usually happy that they did. If one chose's to lead an irresponsible life, they will soon

Persuasive Essay About Responsibility Have you ever read an unbelievable tragedy or accident that never should have happened in the first place? How about devastated families who are blaming others for the death of a loved one? It is essential that people in life or death situations should be held accountable for their situation no matter what. People are able to choose where they go and what they do for fun, and a person's life is their own life and shouldn't depend on others to save them. Not only that but people's actions can not only harm themselves but others who didn't do anything. Because of these reasons, people need to understand that they need to take responsibility for their troubles. First off, many people choose to put themselves in survival situations and do daring actions when they know the risks themselves. In " The Most Dangerous Game ", an adventurer and hunter, Rainsford, is traveling the world but in the process runs into another hunter who has created an unimaginable game of hunting humans for amusement. This cruel being is a man named General Zarroff, who explains, "'Life is for the strong, to be lived by the strong, and, if need be, taken by the strong. The weak of the world were put here to give the strong pleasure. I am strong. Why should I not use my gift? If I wish to hunt, why should I not? I hunt the scum of the earth–sailors from tramp ships–lascars, blacks, Chinese, whites, mongrels–a thoroughbred horse or hound is worth more than a score of them'" (Connell 13). Being Responsible For Research Paper I am not sure if my past emails were unclear or not. At home, we are teaching Ben the importance of being responsible. We feel that this is a key skill to learn to succeed not only in school but life itself. The way that we are teaching our child is by setting expectation and tasks that an 11 year can easily complete. His current task includes: making sure that his homework is done and packed in his bag before he goes to sleep. We had him removed from the patrol program because of the issue of him not getting his homework to or from school . Receiving a phone call at 9:20 am asking either myself or Ben's father to bring his homework that was left at home to school is unacceptable for us and going against what is being responsible. Unfortneytly, we are unable to leave our jobs because our child was not responsible enough to put and keep his homework in his bag. We will not bring in any forgotten homework assignments to school; Ben is aware of that decision. ...show more content... The answer is yes, we do care. We check his homework and go over any questions he has on his homework almost every night. We, also, remind him to pack it neatly in his bag at least 3 times if it is left out. If the parents are, I can easily complete all of his homework assignments and school assignments. During the parent teach conference it was mentioned that it doesn't matter their quality of the work; now I can assume that being responsible for their work isn't required. Please let me know if we need to discuss this matter further. But this email is very clear that we want our child to responsible for his Get more content on StudyHub.Vip

Examples Of Being Responsible Essay Since the beginning of my life,I have considered myself a responsible person. From the beginning of preschool,my biggest achievement could be to get good grades. This value followed me my whole elementary school, which is something that helps you so much in school.Being responsible doesn't let you do certain things that other people do,for example not studying for a test or not doing your homework,it also made me have a perfect conduct. The problem started as I entered high school,my responsibility was the same but My desires to do things lowered because I began feeling exhausted.Every year I grew was a year I kept getting good grades and being responsible ,but with less and less effort. How is that such a good value took the worst of me just as I was finishing 11th grade? What Does It Mean To Be Responsible Essay I Got the Keys Being responsible is key to life. Everyone has a responsibility. Being responsible doesn't mean I have more power or freedom. Responsibility means to be accountable, and I can be trusted. It means I have can manage how you act. This means I can own up to what I did. This day was my day to own up, and say what I did wrong. On Mondays, students go to school looking like zombies. The teachers are looking extremely irritable. In the classrooms there was no energy. Monday was the worst Monday of the year so far. My Monday went from bad to worse.I'm patiently waiting for my bus to get to my house so I can go get some food and go to sleep. As soon as my bus comes to a halt I start to pat my pants for my key.
