Molloy University is an independent Catholic institution rooted in the Dominican traditional study of spirituality, service, and community and is dedicated to academic excellence with respect for each person (Molloy University). This institution’s mission aligns with my understanding of global health, especially on service to the community and equality. The university’s mission entails educating learners about global health issues and their impact on populations worldwide and teaching them about the significance of treating all individuals with dignity and respect. Molloy University’s obligation to service and community also aligns with global health as the institution encourages students to participate in service learning or volunteer opportunities that enhance the health outcomes for underserved populations locally and globally (Molloy University). This commitment directly touches me since having been born and raised in Jamaica. I came from humble beginnings and have always treasured the opportunity to volunteer and give back to my community.
