Discussion 10 Good morning Class, The East Indian Hindu American community is deeply rooted in the values and traditions of Hinduism. They adhere to their society's established norms, traditions, and dogma. According to this school of thought, people become sick because of the sins they committed in a prior life. Despite this population's high regard for doctors and nurses, many individuals in this group choose to rely on traditional healing practices like poojas rather than seek immediate medical attention in a medical emergency ( Miller, 2020). These people often reject insulin because they believe it is derived from animals. Not only is there seldom enough time, but patients also want a total defense of the logic behind every medication the doctor recommends. As mentioned above, inadequate nursing care is provided to the group because of constant communication, comprehension, and patient awareness gaps. Despite increasing demographic diversity in the United States and the region we serve, the nursing profession has not kept pace ( Miller, 2020). The nursing staff in many hospitals and clinics does not accurately represent the community they serve. The dearth of ethnic variety among nurses is a problem for those striving to give holistic care to an increasingly varied set of patients, even when nurses are highly trained and culturally sensitive ( Miller, 2020). There are some norms and practices that pregnant Eastern Indian women must follow. Families from Eastern India who move to the United States do so while still holding on to their cultural traditions. Upon arriving in the United States, many Indians find themselves divided between their cultural norms and those of their new home. When they encounter hospitals and doctors who come from various cultural backgrounds,
they often get more confused and angrier. People's ideas and values affect their understanding of health and sickness ( La et al., 2021). Cultural variations may impact patient and nurse interactions if healthcare providers in hospitals and communities do not educate themselves on local norms and practices. Provider-consumer linguistic gaps might be a significant cause of confusion. Nurses may struggle to offer culturally appropriate treatment if they experience frequent frustration from their patients' actions and behaviors ( La et al., 2021). Patients may experience anger and persistent dissatisfaction with treatment. As a result, cultural competence is essential for building productive relationships in the workplace and achieving organizational goals. References Miller, S. W. (2020). 3 Discussion 11 Good morning Class, Americans of Jewish descent maintain their traditional customs and values. They practice their unique religion, rooted in centuries-old traditions. They must also adhere to a set of official beliefs. So it becomes harder to provide patients with a culturally competent setting. They often believe that a good connection with God and other people is essential. Communicating effectively with a patient is crucial to providing effective care. Thus, offering a cultural competency environment is crucial to improve the quality of treatment for the American Jewish community (Benjakob et al., 2021). As a result, the nurse should have no trouble communicating with patients since they all speak English. Despite this, religious and cultural norms shape the way nurses work. Respecting their individual standards is common practice. They have a special diet and foods that should be eaten after marriage (Benjakob et al., 2021). Treating those who are more devoted to their ancestral traditions might be more challenging. Reducing health inequities among Jewish Americans requires nurses to use evidence-based practice. All of life is governed by a set of rules and laws. Here, the nurse may use evidence-based practice to improve the efficacy of patient care (Benjakob et al., 2021). Just as there are laws that govern Jewish life, there are also laws that govern Jewish death. Although only Orthodox Jews are expected to adhere entirely to these rules, the nurse may notice that non-Orthodox Jews exhibit some of the same behaviors due to the cultural knowledge developed due to these rules. Religious Jews believe a dying person should not be left alone in their last moments. According to popular belief, the soul leaves the body at the moment of death, and without a funeral service, the deceased would feel lonely and abandoned (Genut et al., 2022). Keeping this commandment requires loved

Discussion 13 Good morning Class, Nursing is the biggest healthcare profession in Nigeria American. They are the first line of defense in promoting healthy lifestyles to their patients and their families. According to the Migration Policy Institute, 61 percent of Nigerian Americans over the age of 25 now have a graduate degree, but just 32 percent of the native-born population does Despite this, little is known about what influences Nigerian American nurses to engage in health-enhancing practices on a personal level (Fosco, 2022). According to data gathered by the American Community Survey in 2016, about half of all Nigerian-American professionals are employed in the education services sector, with many holding positions as faculty at prestigious colleges. Increased numbers of Nigerians are joining the medical industry in the United States, choosing to leave their native country in search of better pay and working conditions in American hospitals (Moon et al., 2020). There has been a recent uptick in the number of Nigerian Americans founding and leading digital firms in the United States to reinvest in Nigeria. Although the federal government of Nigeria American has proposed several changes to the country's health care system, these changes have yet to be implemented at the state levels (Omenka et al., 2019). The communique went on to say that the problem was made worse by the various levels of government not clearly defining their respective duties and responsibilities. Medical intelligence and surveillance are essential tools for preventing the spread of illness and thwarting bioterrorist plots. In modern medical settings, such as those found in U.S, automated-based medical information and surveillance systems play an
increasingly important role, complementing the more typical pattern of human document retrieval (Moon et al., 2020). Public health serves to monitor and prevent disease outbreaks and ensure that all citizens have access to prompt and appropriate medical treatment. Health services in Nigeria have been hit by a series of annual infectious illness epidemics. That's why it's essential to do something about the issue. With this research, American Nigerians will always   want to assess the current healthcare system in the U.S   and provide some solutions to the country's steadily deteriorating health status (Moon et al., 2020). Additionally, this research intends to evaluate the dynamics of health care in the United States concerning medical intelligence/surveillance techniques to provide up-to-date suggestions for the Nigerian American health care system. 7 Discussion 14 Good morning Class, Ugandan Americans originate from Uganda, an East African Country, and migrated to the US between 1989-2000. On the other hand, Jordanian Americans come from Jordan, an Arabian country, and are believed to have migrated to America between 1875 and 1920 (Themes, 2019). These two ethnic groups have different cultural practices that depict healthcare value, primarily upon migration to the US. This paper analyzes the characteristics of the two ethnic groups and how it affects my nursing profession. Ugandan Americans have a unique way of speaking. Patients from this ethnic group prefer a formal introduction, and the conversation is calm, as addressing them in a loud tone is offensive to them. Additionally, they prefer to shake hands as a greeting, which occurs at the beginning and the end of a meeting. They do not maintain eye contact with a nurse, which is considered disrespectful. Ugandan Americans also prefer the presence of a family member during treatment. Furthermore, members of this cultural group prefer a personal distance between men and women to the extent that men rarely escort their women as they deliver (Themes, 2019). As a nurse, knowing the above characteristics, like handshaking, keeping a low tone, and personal distancing, are essential in developing cultural competency when treating patients from this ethnic group. Jordanian Americans differ from Ugandan Americans and also have unique characteristics. A greeting, for instance, is extensive, which can be a handshake, hug, or kiss on the cheeks, which differs between men and women. On distancing, only close family members are allowed close contact, which also differs between men and women. Patients from this cultural group prefer to keep their healthcare status private to their family members. A nurse should ask for permission from a patient before disclosing their health status to their
family members. Jordanian Americans are also religious, with most of them being Muslims (Themes, 2019). As a nurse, mastering distinct communication behaviors while addressing male and female patients, maintaining personal space, especially in patients of the opposite sex, and keeping patients’ privacy is essential. Additionally, knowing their religious calendar and dietary expectations is vital to avoid serving admitted patients from this ethnic group prohibited meals. As seen in the above paragraphs, Ugandan Americans and Jordanian Americans have different cultural characteristics, which affect how healthcare is administered. Ugandan Americans are more social, outspoken, and open compared to Jordanian Americans, among other unique characteristics between the two ethnic groups. As a nurse, therefore, being culturally competent is vital in my nursing profession. Putting patients' care first and addressing patients in a culturally correct manner encourages patients and thus improves healthcare quality. References Themes, U. (2019). Jordanian Americans .
