Response 1 Kelsy Good discussion about your reflective experience in your profession. When the medical staff and you spoke with the family numerous times throughout the day to build confidence and clear up any misperceptions that might have existed. One of our unit's doctors, who had been actively involved in the communication with this family that day, pulled you away at the end of the day and we had a chat. During that conversation, you were asked if you appreciate being a nurse and how you maintain your passion, among other things. This prompted you to think critically about why you are content with and enjoy my work right now. I conclude that having a healthy work-life balance enables me to enjoy going to work, avoid feeling burned out and "done" with my job, and be able to care for my patients and their families while working without having my thoughts wandering. It has been eye-opening to think back on this discussion I had with the doctor because I usually only think about negative or ambiguous circumstances. Besides this, reflecting on the feedback the doctor was able to offer confirmed my beliefs and feelings regarding the advantages of keeping a work-life balance. My professional life has been affected by this discussion, which I used as an opportunity to reflect, on that, I am now more careful to avoid scheduling too many shifts and may work fewer hours if my family is having a busy week (O'Brien & Graham, 2020) . Response 2 Jessica Excellent post. We all most likely engage in reflective practice regularly at work. Being a nurse without taking some time out of my day to consider the care I have provided would be difficult for me, as I take pleasure in providing thoughtful care. Because reflective practices allow us to delve deeper into several aspects of our nursing care, including knowledge, skills, beliefs, and needs, to mention a few, we can become better practitioners. For there to be a good change, it is crucial to set aside time for reflection (Fowler, 2020) . Through several reflective experiences in my profession, I believed that this was a learning opportunity and a chance to talk with other nurses about potential changes to charting. Over the past few years, I have significantly improved my comfort level and openness to criticism, and I believe that anyone operating in professional life should do the same. I believe that the person giving the evaluation and how it is delivered have a substantial impact on how I feel when receiving it. An individual who gives feedback ought to be in a position of leadership and have established good relationships with others. References Fowler, J. (2020). Reflection and mental health nursing.
