The primary purpose of Mainous article is to provide strategies and recommendations by en- couraging researchers to improve their credibility. Mainous addressed the growing challenge of misinformation. He believes being transparent in reporting, collaborating with experts, and communicating with the general public will help strengthen the trustworthiness of scientific re- search in regards to primary care. 8. Summarize in a paragraph of your own words what Mainous recommends primary care re- searchers do when publishing future scientific studies to overcome science denial and claims of “fake news”. To overcome science and denial research in regards to primary care, Manious recommends a few steps of action to primary care researchers. Manious recommends appealing to the general public to alleviate “sound bites”. Connecting with a media outlet was recommended as it will help the researcher to not be alone in their pitch. Mainous states that it is important for primary care researchers to make themselves available for media press release. Regarding media press releases, he also encourages primary care reasearches to remain on topic, keep it simple, and to the point. 3
