Some examples of ethical issues in science include bias in research, the impact of
politics on science, research funding sources, objectivity in science, or the spread of
scientific misinformation.
Describe an ethical issue that relates to the main idea of your chosen news story.
One ethical issue I could think of is the funding for this experiment to happen on human
patients.
Explain how bias, beliefs, assumptions, or values relate to your ethical issue.
The belief and bias that “
therapies and advances in allopathic medicine are usually developed primarily
for humans before they are applied to animals.”
Due to applying it to animals first, it’s taking a bit to apply it to human patients possibly due to the cost
and safety.
Explain how your chosen ethical issue may impact (or has impacted) how research is conducted on the
main idea of your chosen news story.
Research is continuing to be conducted with dogs/animals for this therapy, and now there is research
evolving for human patents and this therapy.
Scientists are trying to create it to be accessible for humans.
Explain how your chosen ethical issue may impact (or has impacted) advancements in the field of
study.
If we can get this therapy to work on humas, we will finally have a cure for cancer. The field of cancer
science and scientist are stiving to find this cure. They are hoping to plan clinical trials on human patients
in 2024.
