Consult Case Study 6.2, "Preventive Services at Greenwood Family Medicine," in Chapter 6 in the textbook. What did you immediately notice about the dynamics of the team? Who had the most authority? Why was this team ineffective in accomplishing its goals? What could the team members have done differently to collaborate more effectively? As someone who has worked in the medical field for years, I have seen this scenario play out time and time again. The dynamics of the team are initially unorganized, and continue to stay that way. The providers, unsurprisingly, took the role of authority in this situation. Now, although providers are very intelligent, the the issue with them taking authority is although they do work with other providers, as well as the nurses, and other staff in the office, they don't typically understand the intricacies that go into all of the daily tasks that are behind other staff's roles. The team members needed to act just as the name states, a team. Without active collaboration, and working together to solve the issue at hand, there is no way that what they are seeking to do, will actually get done. Johnson, J. K., & Sollecito, W. A. (2018).
