To create a classroom
environment that is conducive to learning the moment class begins.
1. Walk in quietly (entering a new zone).
2. Get organized before the bell (sharpen pencil, homework ready …).
3. Begin working quietly on the warm-up (in your notebook with paper labeled).
Teacher will introduce the procedure on the first day of school. The teacher will model the procedure at the beginning of class for the first week of school.
Teacher and students will repeat when reinforcement is needed or when new students join the class.
Teacher will watch for students who follow the steps correctly and will positively reinforce the students.

It aims to provide
the necessary
resources, time, and
freedom for students
to complete their
documentation
properly upon
returning to class.
1.When the student returns to class,
they will be informed that they were
absent, and they must complete their
documentation.
2.The teacher will then go over the
missed assignments to make sure
that they are clear instructions.
3. If the work is a test the student will
have three days to complete it
This procedure will
be discussed and
explained thoroughly
on the first day of
class.
The teacher will
provide a scenario for
the students in case
of this situation. The
teacher will also
demonstrate and
show where the
assignment bin will
be for the work
Occasionally to help
remind students of
the procedure
making sure that they
are aware of how to
turn in and complete
late assignments.
If a student has been
absent for more than
two days in a row,
the teacher will
contact the parents
or guardian to make
sure that they are
okay. The teacher will

Students should
leave the classroom
in a way that is
orderly, free from the
chaos, and prepares
them for the next
class or dismissal at
the end of the day.
1.The timer will stop working once
five minutes of class have been left.
2.Students must begin picking up
their assignments and disposing of
any waste.
3.They should also be ready to go
back to class the following day with
their assignments.
4.They should quietly file out of the
door as the bell rings.
This procedure will
be introduced the
first day of class.
The teacher will

Students must
perform well in group
settings to develop
their communication
and problem-solving
abilities. This is done
through the use of
their skills in
problem-solving.
1.
The students must listen to
the teacher's instructions.
2.
They must also write down
their ideas using materials
given.
3.
The teachers must then
assess their understanding
and assign each member a
task.
4.
They must promote
interaction by making sure
that each member is focused
on their job.
The teacher will
provide an
explanation of how
each step will be
conducted.
This will be
accomplished
through the prior
assignments, as well
as the utilization of
visuals aids to help
pupils comprehend
the instructions.
This will be
conducted during the
assigned task. The
students will have the
opportunity to
practice this during
the given
assignments.
During the group
activity, the teacher
can assess the
students'
performance by
monitoring their
activity. The teacher
will walk from one
group to another to
supervise and
instruct.

The goal is to allow
the students to
demonstrate their
trustworthiness by
performing their own
personal tasks
without adult
supervision.
1.
Hold three fingers to signal
that students need to go to
the restroom.
2.
After the teacher
acknowledges them,
students can sign their name
on a whiteboard and turn in
their ticket.
3.
They can then turn in their
unused tickets at the end of
the day to get a chance to
win.
This procedure will
be introduced on the
first day of class.
Students will model
this with the help of
the teacher.
It is important to
regularly reinforce
the proper usage of
procedures.
Repeat the training
on a specific subject
whenever deemed
appropriate.
Procedure #5
Late Arrival to Class

It is important to
ensure that
disruptions are
minimized and that
students are getting
the ideal amount of
time to settle into
studies.
1.The entrance to the room should
be polite and quiet.
2.Homework should be placed in a
basket, and journal writing should
begin.
3. Students should also ask their
neighbors what they are doing.
This procedure will
be introduced on the
first day of class. It
will also be posted in
the class to give
students a reminder
of the procedure for
late arrival.
The teacher will
teach the students to
model this so that
others are aware of
it.
The teacher will
model this with the
help of a student
volunteer. It will be
molded as needed
and for new students.
The teacher will give
students praise for a
job well done.
Rationale
Write a 100-150 word rationale explaining how procedures minimize distractions and maximize instructional time.
In order to run smoothly, the class must follow proper procedures. “Soon after the introductions, usually after the initial room description, present the
major rules and procedures” ( Evertson & Emmer, 2017, pg. 103). Students will be more focused on what they are expected to do when they have these rules in place, and they can accomplish their tasks faster with fewer distractions. This helps the teacher complete their work more effectively.
Some of these procedures can help minimize distractions, such as entering the classroom properly when coming in late. Doing so can prevent disruptions, and it can also help the teacher complete their tasks more effectively. Having a procedure for late or missed assignments can help the

teacher get the most out of their time. The management of the class could become chaotic if there were no procedures in place to help it run smoothly. Part 2: Rules, Consequences, and Rewards System
List 5 rules and consequences for classroom behavior. Consequences should be applicable to all rules, and get progressively more stringent in order
to coach student’s negative behaviors and allow them to demonstrate positive behaviors.
Rules:
1) Bes respectful to the teacher, peers, subs, administrators, and others. 2) Follow the directions given.
3) Be prepared for class.
4) Raise your hand to speak.
5) No bullying, profanity, or unkind acts. Consequences:
1) Verbal warning will be given first.
2) After school or class, talk to the teacher about the actions that were taken.
3) Certain privileges may be taken away, such as recess and extracurricular activities.
4) Coordinate a meeting between the school's administration and the parents.
5) Student will be sent to principal’s office and handled from there possible detention.
Documenting Consequences:
Describe where and how you will document the consequences
. In my classroom I will keep it simple and organized for such documentation. Having the necessary documentation will help with keeping up with my
claims and results. Having the necessary documentation will help make the claims and results look real. I will keep the documents inside a folder. Grouping documents together by months and alphabetical order, I will ensure that all records are dated and marked properly. This will help facilitate parent-teacher meetings and stay connected with the organization. Reward System
Choose or create your own reward system for your future classroom. Be sure to address how you will document rewards. Ideally, this should avoid use of first and second person phrases, but focus on “Teacher will” or “Student will” concepts
.
Cash bucks which will be printed out and awarded to students for appropriate behavior during class.
1.
The teacher may give the students cash for various things, such as turning in their homework on time, being the secret student, and following rules. 2.
They can also spend their money on Friday's, which can be used to buy various items from the teacher's stash box. Students can additionally view price lists for different products.
3.
Students can use the cash for exchange of other things such as sitting by a buddy at lunch, educational games on the tablet or other technology
resource, seating pass, etc. 4.
Students have the option of saving their cash for later purchases for another week and spending it on bigger prizes. Rationale
Write a 100-150 word rationale that explains how the system will help create a safe and productive learning environment.
Reward systems that are tangible can motivate students to strive for better results. “As a result, when students remain engaged, they are required to access deeper, more critical thinking skills, which, in turn, increases achievement” ( Kyoko, Troncale, Calhoun, Alvidez, 2017, pg. 5). This system will help encourage students to engage in appropriate behavior for such rewards. Through this system, students can input what they would like to receive as a reward. For instance, they may want to receive lunch with a friend as it allows them to get away from their usual setting. At this age, students might start believing that sitting in a teacher's chair is a big deal. They should also be given rewards that are appropriate for their age. Creating a rewards system can help students stay focused on improving their performance. Reference Page

You are a biomedical engineer working for a small orthopaedic firm that fabricates rectangular shaped fracture
fixation plates from titanium alloy (model = "Ti Fix-It") materials. A recent clinical report documents some problems with the plates
implanted into fractured limbs. Specifically, some plates have become permanently bent while patients are in rehab and doing partial
weight bearing activities.
Your boss asks you to review the technical report that was generated by the previous test engineer (whose job you now have!) and used to
verify the design. The brief report states the following... "Ti Fix-It plates were manufactured from Ti-6Al-4V (grade 5) and machined into
solid 150 mm long beams with a 4 mm thick and 15 mm wide cross section. Each Ti Fix-It plate was loaded in equilibrium in a 4-point bending
test (set-up configuration is provided in drawing below), with an applied load of 1000N. The maximum stress in this set-up was less than the
yield stress for the Ti-6Al-4V…

Learning Goal:
To describe the shape and behavior of cables that are subjected to concentrated and
distributed loads.
Part A
Structures often use flexible cables to support members and to transmit loads between
structural members. Because a cable's weight is often significantly smaller than the
load it supports, a cable's weight is considered negligible and, therefore, not used in
the analysis.
In this tutorial, cables are assumed to be perfectly flexible and inextensible. Thus, once
the load is applied the geometry of the cable remains fixed and the cable segment can
be treated as a rigid body.
Cables of negligible weight support the loading shown. (Figure 1) If W, = 85.0 N , W, = 510 N, YB = 1.40 m, yc = 2.80 m, yp = 0.700 m, and zc = 0.850 m, find zg.

Case Study – The New Engineer
Jeff was just hired by GSI, Inc. to be their Environmental and Safety Coordinator. This is Jeff's first position after completing his engineering degree. He had taken a course in safety engineering as part of his studies and felt confident that he could handle the job.
Management at GSI, Inc. has assured him that they are committed to maintaining a safe workplace. They have never had an individual dedicated to this task full-time. They will implement his recommendations if he can justify them.
As Jeff begins to get familiar with the operations, he spends considerable time on the production floor. He notices workers clean their tools before break with a liquid from an unmarked 55-gallon drum. They also use this liquid to clean residue from their skin. They use paper towels to dry their tools and hands, throw these towels in the trash, and head to the break room for a snack and/or smoke.

Learning Goal:
To use transformation equations to calculate the plane state of stress in a rotated coordinate system.
The normal and shear stresses for a state of stress depend on the orientation of the axes. If the stresses are
given in one coordinate system (Figure 1), the equivalent stresses in a rotated coordinate system (Figure 2) can
be calculated using a set of transformation equations. Both sets of stresses describe the same state of stress.
In order to use the transformation equations, a sign convention must be chosen for the normal stresses, shear
stresses, and the rotation angle. For the equations below, a positive normal stress acts outward on a face. A
positive Try acts in the positive y-direction on the face whose outward normal is in the positive x-direction. The
positive direction for the rotation is also shown in the second figure.
The stresses in the rotated coordinate system are given by the following equations:

You are an engineer working on a project and your prototype has failed prematurely. You question whether or not a key component of the prototype was manufactured with the correct material. There are two way to check for the material properties. The first way is to have a material certification done to confirm the exact material composition. This will take some time. The second method to confirm the material properties is to make an ASTM test sample and test for the material properties. This tensile test was completed on a test sample with an initial diameter of .501” and an initial length of 2”. The Load-Deflection data for this tensile test is below. Use this data to answer the first set of questions on the Final Exam in eLearning. A. Determine the Ultimate Tensile Strength B. Determine the 0.2% Offset Yield Strength C.
