Group Name: Team 7 Meeting Topic: Robotic Behavior Assignment Date: Friday, September 29, 2023 Time: 5:15 PM Location: DFX Lab Atteendees: Jorge Ramos-Perez – Software Lead Maxim Zakhareyev – Project Lead Anar Mammadli – Product Lead Joanna Johnson – Design Lean Jahongir Akbaraliev – Test Lead Meeting Agenda: - Discuss each group members roles in more detail -Read through robotic behavior assignment -Collaborate on robotic behavior assignment Discussion Points: 1. Are we using double sided tape or Velcro in order to attach sonar sensor and lcd display to origami bot? -decided to use Velcro as it would hold up better 2. How to connect a sonar sensor to Arduino? -Looked at the document for robotic behavior it had pictures that led us to completion 3. How do we implement the robotic behavior assignment when creating our real project -We could use the lcd display to better track the movements when testing our robot 4. LCD display not lighting up and sensor is reading zero, is sensor the problem or the code? -We tried switching out the sonar sensor for one from a different kit in order to troubleshoot, and the lcd display started blinking more consistently and the sensor started working 5. LCD display is still not consistently turning on but still blinking, is the sensor the issue?
-Display now lit up when sensor senses motion, but motors stopped working. We tried other lcd displays motor works, but the display now doesn’t light up. We tried every single display, and they still flicker and don’t show. Actions items and Timeline: Product Lead and Design lead will complete DFX lab training. Each group member will submit their own copy of robotic assignment video. Project Lead will be ready to potentially present design PowerPoint in class. Meeting Adjourned: 7:00 PM Maxim Zakhareyev the Project Lead kept meeting minutes and wrote down issues the team was having. Maxim also helped troubleshoot various issues throughout the process such as when the LCD screen was not working properly to read over the code, check the wiring, and switch out the LCD screens. Maxim also wrote to the teacher assistants for assistance with troubleshooting the LCD screen. Jorge Ramoz-Perez the Software Lead installed the LCD Library Display and took charge of creating the code for the robotic behavior assignment. Jorge also brought the origami bot already assembled with the wiring still intact which allowed us to assemble the robot needed for the robotic behavior assignment more efficiently. Anar Mammadli the Product Lead helped with the testing of the robot at the end thinking of a way to make sure one side of the robot wasn’t weighed down too much by the components. He basically made a way, so the robot was not dragging itself too much in the rear due to it only having two front wheels. Joanna Johnson the Design Lead was the one who attached the sonar sensor using the Velcro to the front of the robot. Joanna also took charge and did a lot of the wiring that was connected from the Arduino board to the LCD display and the sonar sensor. She also majorly helped with the problem-solving part of the project offering solutions when one component was working, and the rest weren’t or vice versa. Jahongir Akbaraliev the Test Lead suggested that we switch out the sonar sensor when we were initially having issues with our LCD screen. Jahongir also had the idea to switch out the different LCD screens to troubleshoot the issue of the screen blinking and not showing the words it was supposed to show. Jahongir also helped test whether the robot worked properly and followed his hand, which was needed in the video portion of this assignment. https://youtu.be/3-qhbE-K7bo - Link to Robotic Behavior Assignment video
