HW CH1 Prob 1.6
Exercise 1.6: Interactive computing of volume and area
a) Compute the volume in Exercise 1.2 by using Matlab interactively, i.e., do the
computations at the command prompt (in a Matlab shell as we also say). Compare
with what you got previously from the written program. b) Do the same also for Exercise 1.3.
Part A
The result in both cases is the same with V = 64. I noticed when working interactively in the command prompt you cannot go back and edit the program. If you make a mistake you must start
from the beginning. This makes the program process more effective in the script. Part B
The results of the interactively working in the command prompt is the same as the results in exercise 1.3. Like previously stated the program cannot be edited in the command prompt.

HW Matlab 1) Create a variable ftemp to store a temperature in degrees Fahrenheit (F). Write m-file to convert this to degrees Celsius and store the result in a variable ctemp. The conversion factor is C = (F —32) * 5/9. 2) Write m-file to generate a matrix of random integers of size 100 by 100 their values between 15 to 80. 3) Free fall of objects is given by y =5mgt? where a is the acceleration, v is the velocity, y is the distance, m is the mass of the object, g is the gravitational acceleration. Plot the distance and velocity of the object for 15 seconds after its fall from rest (y = 0). Take m = 0.2 kg.

Model the following problem with integer programming. The marketing department
has been allocated a budget of $10M and would like to determine which products to develop
advertising campaigns; note: at most one campaign can be launched for each product. Their goal
is to maximize revenue for the company. Data is presented in the table below.

cylinder as shown in the figure.
a) Write MATLAB script to find the diameter d that make the total volume of the
tank equal to 12m?, find the dimeter with 0.001m accuracy, knowing that a-6m.
b) Plot the relation between d and v.

Please refer to the attached picturs of the problem statement. I have solved a, b, c, and g using kinematics and Newton's Second Law. I'm not sure how to answer d, e and f however. My answers are:
a) aT=v0/ts
b) ac/t=mu(g)+v0/ts
c)truck stops before crate
d) unsure

Goal: Determine the mass of the counterweight necessary to launch a 7g clay ball 3 meters.
A) Find Position vectors for location B and C
B) Find angular velocity and acceleration of swing arm
C) Find velocity vector of the clay ball
