They are: Big C Waffles Mix Uncle Wayne's All Purpose Seasoning Granny-B's Tropical Punch Mr. Carl Richardson is the founder and owner of Big C Waffles. He would like to start selling his products internationally (outside of the United States). He has hired our firm to explore, identify and recommend international markets to enter. Specifically, he would like to us to research countries in the following continents: Africa, Asia, Australia & Oceania, and Europe. Project Overview 1. Choose a country within the four continents Mr. Richardson has provided us. Choose a country you that you want to learn more about so that you can stay committed to the project. 2. You are going to gather details about the country that will help you make your final recommendation to Mr. Richardson if he should launch his products there. 3. All the information below is necessary for you to provide our client. So do not skip providing any of it. Not providing all the information, will cost you greatly on your project grade. This is a real client , so I expect the highest of quality output. Required Project Components Part 1: The Country’s Social and Cultural Environment (Chapter 4 in eBook) (50 points) 1. Research the effects of religion a. Identify and describe any dominant religions in the country that would prohibit citizens from using and consuming Big C Waffles products? b. Provide at least two recommendations on how to get past this barrier to entry if it exists. 2. Researching visual aesthetics and language a. Research whether or not the current colors, words, logos, etc. used on Big C Waffles product packaging are attractive, appealing and in good taste in the country. b. Provide recommendations on every change Mr. Richardson must make on the products’ packaging to get past these barriers to entry if they exist. 3. Research dietary preferences
a. Identify and describe the main dietary preferences of the country. Explain how the food-related cultural differences will impact Big C Waffles products into the country. b. Provide recommendations on how Mr. Richardson should change the taste of his products to fit the dietary preferences of the country. Part 2: How to Protect Intellectual Property in the Country (Chapter 5) (50 points) 1. Research and report on what the current patent, trademark and copyright laws are in the country. 2. Explain to Mr. Richardson how these laws will impact him if he enters the country. a. Does the country’s government accept bribes? 3. Provide recommendations and steps on what he must do to protect his business and its products from infringement of intellectual property in this country. Part 3: How to Identify Target Market(s) (Chapter 7) (50 points) 1. In this section, you should research what citizens in the country would most likely be to purchase Big C Waffles products. 2. Describe the current social classes in the country. a. Average household income within each social class. b. Average education attained. c. Average age(s) of each social class. d. Gender distribution of each social class. e. Do they consume food products that are not traditional to their country? What ethnic foods do they consume on average? f. Do they have any current traditional food items that are like chicken and waffles like Big C Waffles products? g. Describe any social classes that have adopted an American lifestyle?

Review chapter 8, conduct research on exporting in your country Big C Waffles is entering, and recommend best practices on how to export the products to your country. Make sure you cover all barriers to entry. 2. Review chapter 9, conduct research on what effects the different forms of foreign investments a company can take in your country, and recommend your strategy for entering the country. a. This is where you decide what existing retail outlets Mr. Richardson should approach to get them to sell his products. You should report to him how he overcomes any barriers to entry. Reviewing chapter 12 will help you with this section as well. 3. Review chapter 11, conduct research on pricing products in your country and recommend a pricing strategy for entering the country. a. Your recommendation should include converting Big C Waffles current prices into the country’s currency. b. Your recommendation should include using a pricing strategy in chapter 11. You must support and validate why this pricing strategy is best for Mr. Richardson to use. How to Present Your Findings and Recommendations (100 points) 1. Your project should be in PowerPoint presentation format. No other presentation format should be used. The client, Mr. Richardson, will be sent
these presentations for him to review. You must upload your final slides to the designated spot on Blackboard. 2. You must videotape yourself giving your presentation to Mr. Richardson. a. Please be in FULL professional dress when you record your presentation. Points will be deducted for not following this requirement. b. Make sure your video is clear and the sound is not muffled. c. You can embed your video in each slide, showing you talking through each slide as you present. 3. Points will be deducted for non-creativity on slides, no enthusiasm while presenting as well as spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors. 4. All in-text citations and references must be in APA format.
