Demographic profile – Population of a city
Census information from Statistics Canada can be used to describe the characteristics of the population living in a geographic area.
Instructions:
Access the Census Profile
tool and input the name of a Canadian city of your choice.
Working from the search results, review information from the city’s 2021 Census of Population profile tables
. Using your analysis, select five “characteristics” that communicate a detailed understanding of who lives in the city. Limiting your selection to only five pieces of information forces you to prioritize the characteristics for relevance. Consider including demographics discussed in the Adweek
article.
Include city name, characteristic (5), count (5) and an APA reference to the data set
.
