2 Reflection Paper Our group assignment focused on conducting a situational analysis of the ALVI system. Based on my previous experiences, working as a team has not always been fun. However, I can confidently admit that I had the right team members, and everything flowed easily this time around. I enjoyed working with every member since we understood each other and the inputs we made to complete the assigned task successfully. I learned that teamwork is imperative for success and growth. This is because a good team helped me stay grounded and helped me think about the subject differently. It also pushed boundaries with the development of new ideas and offered a robust support network. In addition, from the comprehensive research, we conducted as a team, I learned that air pollution in our society is increasing at an alarming rate, posing a threat to human life. In other words, there has been increased contamination of the indoor as well as the outdoor surroundings by chemical, biological and physical agents in the atmosphere. This means that human beings are at the risk of getting air pollution-related illnesses such as respiratory infections, stroke, ischemic heart illnesses, or even chronic obstructive pulmonary illness. In order to lessen the likelihood of getting these illnesses, the ALVI system would help enhance indoor air quality. It offers air ventilation, thermal and cooling comfort. With the rise of air pollution, many people will opt to purchase automated systems. However, there is a great threat of stiff competition, which is always there in any market. Besides, I employed the knowledge and skills gained in class in a real-life analysis case to help me understand our business world. I realized that every market has its own pros and cons. Therefore, to fully understand the market, conducting an analysis is important. In fact, performing a SWOT analyzing the five forces framework, differentiation, and positioning of the

3 ALVI system helped us as a team to identify all the vulnerabilities and issues that could affect the system. It also helped us find proper solutions based on the opportunities and implement them for better outcomes and maximize the value delivered to targeted customers. Besides, I also learned that a business needs to implement strategic options that would make it outstanding as compared to other competitors in the industry. They offer alternate action-oriented responses, particularly to the external situation being faced by a firm. The assignment helped us develop strategic options for ALVI system threats and challenges, such as cost leadership strategy and social media marketing. Overall, the group assignment sharpened my skills in analyzing a business or an industry.
