The efficacy and success of a team are determined by leadership and followership, which are crucial elements of every business. In order to develop these abilities and become a more valuable team member, it is therefore critical to comprehend leadership and followership styles. Given the findings from the Leadership Trait Questionnaire (LTQ), I will review my leadership and followership styles throughout this essay and point out potential growth areas. According to the LTQ, my score was thirty-eight points, and the relationship points were thirty- seven, which shows that I have a balanced leadership style with a slightly higher emphasis on task orientation (GonzálezMorales, Peiró, & Rodríguez, 2018). Focusing on achieving specific goals and objectives and prioritizing tasks has helped me be a productive and efficient leader. The people and connections required to accomplish such objectives must not go unnoticed. Members of the team may become less driven and pleased with their work as a result. A few of my greatest assets include allocating assignments to fellow teammates efficiently while maintaining confidence in them to perform everything (Akhtar & Boustani, 2020). By doing this, I can concentrate on my duties while enabling my team members to assume more roles and advance their professional lives. My capacity to give team members positive feedback, which could assist them to operate more effectively and have a positive impact, is a competency I believe I can still grow (González-Morales et al., 2018). Any leader must have efficient criticism skills in their toolbox. Thanks to this, team members may identify their areas of progress, understand their abilities and shortcomings, and receive respect and gratitude for their work. Leaders may promote a working environment of ongoing development and progress by providing helpful advice improving motivation, work satisfaction, and team productivity (Kim et al., 2020).
I am a balanced follower exhibiting an occasional bias for task-driven actions, according to the results of the LTQ about my followership type (Kjeldstadli & Einarsen, 2018). I can work effectively with people and forge good connections because I am committed to finishing my duties and achieving my objectives. A crucial ability I have as a follower is to strike a balance between the team's and company's requirements. I must watch out, though, lest I undervalue the value of fostering positive connections and looking out for the general well-being of my team members since doing so may result in lower morale and less performance (González-Morales et al., 2018). To accomplish a shared objective, a follower must fulfill responsibilities, provide assistance to others, and work cooperatively. Developing strong working connections with others on the team and demonstrating an interest in their welfare can additionally increase enthusiasm and fulfillment with work, increasing the team's efficiency. As stated by Kjeldstadli and Einarsen (2018), my effective leadership style enables me to concentrate on executing tasks while fostering strong bonds with other team members. As a result, team members might grow more inspired and pleased with their jobs, boosting the team's overall effectiveness. Nevertheless, because I am a follower, I can underestimate the value of developing powerful connections with those higher up because I tend to be task-oriented (Kim et al., 2020). This could have a detrimental effect on my professional growth and progression throughout the company. A leader and follower must possess emotional intelligence to succeed (Akhtar & Boustani, 2020). Understanding, controlling, and being able to discern your own feelings as well as the emotions of others is known as emotional intelligence. Equipping team members with emotional intelligence abilities could assist them to grow more cognizant of the wants and emotions of others, therefore improving communication and their capacity to lead and follow with success.

I may encourage greater optimism and enhance my leadership and followership abilities by honing my emotional intelligence. The way I communicate could additionally benefit from some improvement. Gonzalez-Morales et al. (2018) state that good communication is essential for forging solid relationships with colleagues and managers and can potentially alleviate ambiguities and disagreements. As a result, I might participate in educational classes or lectures on assertiveness, attentive listening, and providing criticism. My capacity to adjust and be flexible may also need some improvement. According to Kjeldstadli and Einarsen (2018), leaders and followers must be flexible and versatile with their responsibilities and objectives in today's hectic, constantly shifting workforce. I might search for intriguing opportunities or tasks beyond what is familiar, acquire new technology or abilities, and be receptive to fresh viewpoints to increase my adaptability and flexibility. Furthermore, I may concentrate on honing my leadership and coaching abilities. It is crucial for a leader to support both the professional and personal advancement of their team members (Akhtar & Boustani, 2020). Team members may develop their abilities and achieve their full abilities with my support through guidance and coaching, which will be advantageous to the whole company. Completing educational classes or seminars on coaching mentoring, looking for chances to mentor team members, and offering frequent suggestions and guidance are all things I might do to hone my coaching and mentoring abilities. I possess a balanced leadership and followership style with a slight predisposition for task-driven actions, as determined by the Leadership Trait Questionnaire (LTQ) findings. Even though I am good at organizing, I need to improve my capacity to provide team members with honest feedback and grow emotionally intelligent. I could enhance my ability to communicate, versatility, ability to adapt, and mentoring and coaching abilities while also adding to my
leadership and followership abilities. I can improve as a leader and follower while making an advantageous effect on the group and organization by concentrating on these points for development.
