2 Demographics What are the demographics of AT&T? AT&T calculates the diversity score of companies by measuring the following factors which include but not limited to gender race ethnicity and language(s). Listed below are some of the demographic chart(s) of AT&T as well as the demographics of one of their competitors. (Zippia, 2024)
3 What was a recent change that affected a large group of employees or the organizational culture? Like a lot of businesses of the present and past Covid has affected my center at AT&T a lot. The site usually can host hundreds of people however due to Covid the site director has opted for some individuals to work specifically from home while some teams have moved to “Hybrid” which allows agents to work on site during the week and at home on Mondays and Fridays. How did the company handle it? Some of the activities that AT&T used to do had to ceased due to the Covid mandates but as far as work operations like a lot of places AT&T has opted for work from home options. Unfortunately for some of the management they had a tough decision whether to make a commute to a different site or would have to be let go which was a tough decision for some but due to the pandemic some were laid off but then after so much time had passed some previous employees were allowed to come back if they chose to do so.

4 Was the change handled ethically? If it wasn’t handled ethically, how should they have handled it? If it was handled ethically, what stands out as something to emulate in your future business endeavors? It was indeed handled ethically. Our site director would love to have our operations 100% in office however with the pandemic going on it probably won’t happen for a while. The reason being is that the site where I work at can seat hundreds and had a full service café among other benefits of being on site but for now it’s a bit empty and most do their due diligence from home. Technology How does the company utilize technology in day-to-day business? Depending on which side you’re working if you are working on the development side AT&T uses a lot of technology infrastructures. Of course with mobility AT&T is now going through the transition of using their 5G technology for faster speeds and better connectivity (Verduzco, 2019). If working on the customer service side different software programs are used to access customer accounts and perform necessary tasks to complete the job. What types of technology are used? For my job we used a lot of computer software to do our tasks. Our main program is utilized through Salesforce but we also have other tools to complete our daily tasks for our job.
5 How does a change of technology affect the organization? A change in technology for my site can either be for better or worse. Here recently it was announced that some of our “Legacy” software that we have used for the longest time will be going away and all of our tasks will be done using the main platform which would be through our software Salesforce. By having less systems to use it can assist in getting our job done a lot quicker as we won’t have to jump from system to system to look up what we may need to complete the job.
