AT&T stands for American Telegraph & Telephone is a pioneer and front runner for the telecommunications company. AT&T started back in 1885 as Bellsouth telephone by Alexander Graham Bell but today AT&T provides more than just cell phone coverage. Other services include fiber internet and the latest in 5G technology and with more than two hundred million subscribers to AT&T the company continues to move forward within the telecommunications industry and can grow even bigger than before. (Alonso, 2022)

Global Phenomenon-When it comes to companies making it into the Fortune 500 not a lot can say they have unlike AT&T Back in 2020 The company was ranked ninth overall in the Fortune 00. To be placed in the top ten is an accomplishment of its own!
Weaknesses
Limited options to change. As big of a company is as AT&T it is hard to keep track of all the changes that are happening from within the company. Having such a huge company can pose a challenge to be able to adapt to all the emerging technologies. It can be a bit difficult to adapt to all the trending technologies.
Debt issues. To sustain such large-scale operations as AT&T the company has been known to take on huge deft although not often but occasionally. Turnover rate. Naturally with a company the size of AT&T has a lot of employees. The bad side here is that a lot of them are being replaced constantly. The number of employees that were hired
an kept from 2019 to 2020 had indeed reduced due to the pandemic which had caused the company to change strategies within the offices within the globe.
Opportunities
5G roll out. Like many of the other competitors AT&T is focusing very actively in introducing to
the world to the 5G plan. A lot of the world is dependent on their mobile devices today as we are
5
on the go and need reliable network speed to be able to connect to those they need to in order to go about their day and if AT&T can have 5G rolled out before the other competitors then they will have a leg up in the competition. Technological Revolution
Being in the world of Telecom is just not enough as the world today is constantly changing by the minute. This gives AT&T the chance to experiment with different technology to where it can potentially help the company grow even further. (Momin, 2022)
Threats
Competitors. AT&T might be the second longest reigning telecom company around but that doesn’t mean it has its competitors as well. Verizon and T-Mobile have been around for a while, and they too have their loyal customers like AT&T and they too are also coming out with new products and services that could potentially give the telecom magnate a run for the money.
Prices. One major component when it comes to competing companies would be their pricing. AT&T is experimenting with plans that can be more affordable to their customers to where they can retain and even acquire new customers. No one likes to pay a lot for the same service(s) that can be rendered elsewhere for a lot lower price. (Momin, 2022)
6
The SWOT analysis above highlights the current focus for AT&T on not only it’s image but also the products and services offered. There are quite a few obstacles the telecom world faces such as competition and social trends that create conflict from within global components. This SWOT analyzes AT&Ts current state and the required strategic planning to overcome these obstacles and
to be the top telecom company in the world. (Momin, 2022)
Proposal
In order for AT&T to be the top company in the world of Telecommunications AT&T offers a proposal to not only come out with products and services before any other competitor but also have them both at an affordable rate to where customers can have that experience and not have to
worry about breaking their bank. High Level outline for potential 6G
As the world is now in the era of 5G it seems now that work is in progress to see what will need to be done to roll out 6G in the future! AT&T has been researching 6G and at this moment the industry has a lot of questions on the future of 6G (Hill, 2023). The main concern would be the economics side of 6G and what it might cost the company which even though it could increase network usage but in addition to the costs but also what would be needed would be creative and innovative solutions to be able to withstand so therefore it may be some time before AT&T rolls out 6G but proposal shows it could be the 1
st
out of all telecom companies to roll out 6G as AT&T has many of a leg up when it comes to telecommunications.
