1 Leadership questions Hi, I am Simran Verma, Today I am here to interview a person whom I see as a leader in my life. Here I would like to introduce him in front of you all. Hello everyone, I am Prabhjot Singh. I would like to thank Simran for allowing me to share my views on leadership aspects in front of you all. As I am an entrepreneur, doing my business with team members working in different areas, I manage everything on my own. I appreciate Simran for having me here as a Leader. As we forward to talk, first, what are two major aspects of leadership that you are using in your daily life? If I am talking about my business life of handling teams as well, I think Vision and strategic direction and people and relationship management are major aspects of leadership theory. What is your vision for the organization in the future? In my opinion, A leader's vision for the future of the organization is a clear and convincing depiction of the desired state. It serves as a road map for the organization's expansion and success, stating its desired direction, goals, and values. A leadership vision statement should be forward-thinking, aspirational, and capable of connecting with people at all levels. It offers a feeling of purpose and direction, linking employees' efforts toward a single objective, establishing a cohesive and unified team, and improving collaboration and productivity. How clear is your vision for what the organization should become? It is critical that a leader's vision for the organization is clear. According to studies, clarity is more crucial than honesty in leadership. A clear vision is captivating, and people instinctively gravitate toward the individual with the clearest message. It is critical to articulate the problem that the company solves, the solution it gives, the inspiration behind it, and to celebrate successes in accomplishing this vision. Clarity in the vision statement is critical because it creates a sense of purpose and direction, linking employees' efforts towards a common objective, developing a cohesive and unified team, and improving collaboration and productivity. What are the implications of your mission, vision, and values for your strategies and structure? Vision statements describe an organization's future ambitions and success levels. I give employees a direction, purpose, and meaning for their work. Both the vision and mission statements lead to a set of values that serve as the organization's guiding principles or beliefs. A
2 clear corporate plan necessitates clarity of thought, and definitions of purpose, vision, and mission are critical to obtaining this clarity. How do you prioritize and balance competing strategies initiatives? Establish priorities for goals, make the company's mission and values clear, and routinely monitor progress. To make sure that the most important tasks are finished, prioritize tasks that clash by importance. Sort jobs that conflict in priority in order of importance to ensure that the most critical ones are completed. To effectively manage conflicting priorities in leadership, these tactics entail comprehending the company's objective, identifying critical deliverables, classifying tasks, and making data-driven judgments. Can you share an example of a strategic decision you have made and the thought process behind it? A careful analysis of the organization's advantages and disadvantages as well as the external environment served as the foundation for the decision-making process. Given that leaders oversee establishing the course, making difficult decisions, and assisting their teams in reaching long-term objectives, this example highlights the significance of strategic thinking and well- informed decision making in leadership. Strategic thinking and decision-making processes depend heavily on effective leadership, which necessitates the capacity to foresee, challenge, interpret, decide, align, and learn. How do you measure the success and effectives of your strategic initiative? concentrating on the outcomes that strategic initiatives generate. This entails evaluating how initiatives affect crucial metrics and removing those that don't matter as much. How do you ensure open & effective communication within the team and across the organization? To generate trust and foster connections with staff members and stakeholders, leaders should communicate freely and frequently, create a clear communications policy, and launch official and informal communication initiatives. How do you handle communication challenges or conflict within the team? To resolve disagreements and communication problems, promote candid discussion. This entails establishing a secure environment where team members can voice their worries and paying attention to their viewpoints. To minimize misunderstandings, communicate intelligibly and simply, avoiding jargon and complicated terminology. Communicate with sincerity and honesty to foster relationships and resolve disputes amicably.
3 How do you motive and inspire your team members to achieve their best performance? To increase morale and motivation, recognize and thank team members for their accomplishments and contributions. Enable team members to take responsibility for their work and make decisions by giving them the freedom to be autonomous and self-managing. How would you describe your leadership style, and how it evolved over your career? Over my career, in reaction to the dynamic and always shifting professional scene, my leadership style has changed. At first, I adopted a more conventional, directive leadership style that placed a strong emphasis on power and control. But when the corporate world changed, I realized I had to change too—to embrace contemporary leadership approaches that put cooperation, empathy, and teamwork first. What steps do you take to ensure that everyone feels included and valued? Recognize and value each team member's efforts and accomplishments. Gain social awareness to comprehend team members' demands and worries, then utilize this knowledge to create an inclusive leadership culture. Actively listen to team members' viewpoints and experiences to create an environment where everyone is respected and feels heard. In what ways do you promote a healthy work life balance within the organization? Make it clear what is expected of you in terms of availability, work hours, and the value of taking time off to refresh. Establish boundaries, give self-care priority, and inspire your team members to follow suit to exhibit a healthy work-life balance. Provide for flexible work arrangements to meet individual needs and advance work-life balance, such as remote work or rearranged schedules.
