What kind of funding does Dixon get from the government? Do they ask for certain outcomes to be met. City of Burnaby 1. The City's community grant program supports cultural, athletic and volunteer assistance groups that provide a service or promote activities beneficial to Burnaby's residents. 2. General grants are awarded to defray a portion of costs for established (operating for at least one year) Burnaby based registered/incorporated non-profit societies. So, there are grant programs that non-profits can apply for. For general grants, they must be used towards operating costs. There are also Programming Grants, which are meant to offset the cost of delivering a specific project/event/program. Non-profit providers who specialize in housing and supports for women and children who are experiencing or at risk of violence will operate the housing. Most of the outcomes that had to be met were pertaining to maintaining appropriate conditions for women and children residing in transitional housing.
