Strategic Management Disney The Disney Corporation has prided itself on being one of a kind and always striving for the best. Disney has made a name for itself as a studio organization providing the world with thousands of television shows, movies, and physical entertainment, such as theme parks. This corporation shocked millions as it started as a small idea in Burbank California. Disney Corporation would not be successful today without a well thought out strategic plan. This plan could be seen as three variables, the first being high quality entertainment created for all ages of the family and friends leading to a larger population of engagement. Which in return leads to a higher profit margin. Second, utilizing technology to expand the creative nature of the corporation. Finally, reaching new communities and populations worldwide. Creating an international approach potentially reaching millions of more families and increasing the potential for higher profit and revenue earnings. General Motors Company The General Motors Company is one of the largest vehicle organizations worldwide. Due to the growth and expansion, General Motors has made it a mission to become part of the community and resemble a family style business ensuring customers quality service for life. General Motors mission and vision is to get out in the community and volunteer with all populations, so people are more inclined to do business with the organization after seeing them and what they stand for outside of the business. When not involved in the community, General Motors wants to inspire others with creative resolutions and building trust with the customers of the world. General Motors views this as a friendship with the customers, building trust, loyalty, respect, and determination in customer service.

Miami-Dade County Miami-Dade County is a state government funded organization and is educated in the changing nature of the community and its needs. The culture and environment for this organization can change dramatically from a financial perspective or a social demographic perspective. Because this organization is a state government, tracking and data collection are important and maintained consistently and efficiently. This can be in the form of surveys, and/or data collection both qualitative and quantitative regarding criminal and civil scenarios. Recently, Miami-Dade County was awarded the performance management award by an International Management Association, due to the exceptional reporting on the county, along with remaining transparent and honest with the citizens of the community. Resource Alignment and Allocation Decisions Disney In 2018, Disney Corporation reached new heights, with the highest revenue grossed for the company in over a decade. Disney reported approximately 20 billion dollars being generated in a single year. Generating revenue at these extremes comes from the ability to have many options for all members of the family and all types of people across the globe. Disney Corporation has an extremely large selection of business to aid this success, television, movies, streaming services, clothing, toys, and entertainment. Being a large corporation can draw the attention away from the main vision of the company, which is family and why they have arguably one of largest growing corporations in the world for over ninety years.

General Motors Company General Motors has a working knowledge of the effects vehicles can have not only on the community but the environment as well. General Motors mission and vision is to reduce the harm possibly caused by a vehicle to the environment, while also maintaining positive reviews and exceptional quality of products for the consumer. To achieve this goal, General Motors cuts back on energy and water leading to less waste. While General Motors also focuses on Solar and using renewable energy. Miami-Dade County Miami-Dade County has a plan which specifically states the ideas for the following areas of concern. Transportation should be friendly, safe, and efficient for all members of the community. This leads to effective allocation of funds and the ability to maintain a structure for the transportation department. Miami-Dade County strategic plan also focuses on the safety of the community and potential ways to prevent and reduce crime. Along with providing proper funding to the emergency services department to ensure effective and efficient management during a critical incident or emergency response. Outcome Evaluation Large corporations, such as General Motors Company, Disney and Miami-Dade County all have success in expanding and growing their organization. This could not be achieved without the collection of data, both qualitative and quantitative. This data allows the leaders of the organization to efficiently and effectively assess any current conflicts of interest that could stall growth and revenue.

Disney Disney Corporation has continued to expand its organization through various business practices. The expansion of television shows and movies through various platforms, such as Disney, Disney Streaming, and other various satellite and cable services, to include Pixar and Marvel. While also promoting various clothing, toys, and collection memorabilia. Disney has seen tremendous success with the growth of the entertainment parks in Florida, California, Paris, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. General Motors Company Reviewing the strategic plan for General Motors Company, approximately two billion dollars will be reallocated to other areas of the organization to avoid downturns and provide protection in other areas. This allows the organization to move freely and adjust spending when necessary to prevent a loss and continuing the growth of the organization. Miami-Dade County Miami-Dade County handles this situation by efficiently, effectively and responsibly operating a electric, water, transportation and emergency services department for the citizens of the community. This ensures the community is safe both physically and mentally. Best Practices Disney The Disney Corporation always strives for the best, while also maintaining a positive experience with the success of the company. Disney looks to the following to achieve this: 1. Leadership Excellence

2. Highly Satisfied Customers 3. Highly Engaged Employers General Motors Company The General Motors Company looks forward to and operates in the future if possible. By investing in the future, the organization will adapt and expand much quicker, giving the community and its stakeholders a higher profit and return on the investment. Hopefully leading to long-term investment from the customer base. Miami-Dade County Miami-Dade County is looking to provide a mission and vision for the community that as a taxpayer you are valuable and receiving the proper funding necessary to have a safe and livable community. Miami-Dade County wants the community to know they are being heard and valued and we are here to take care of any issue that may arise. Especially to those that are concerned about crime, police and fire services, natural/emergency disasters, and potentially future delinquent children. Cost-Benefit Analysis Disney When analyzing the cost-benefits of the Disney Corporation it reveals the expenses on promoting various movies and television shows, with the faith of returning a profit margin greater than the overall expenditure of the investment. Disney Corporation, being a larger and more successful organization, heavily promotes donations from the highly grossed revenue earned each fiscal year.

General Motors Company The General Motors Company overview of the strategic and operational plans mentions the return of all cash flow to the shareholders (General Motors Strategic and Operational, slide 39, 2016), to help with the capital allocation framework. General Motors released a statement regarding the cost benefit, mentioning the existing market has no path to acceptable returns. Miami-Dade County’s primary focus will be to concentrate on environmental, social, and economic concerns within the community, along with ways that could achieve all three, with a self-sustainable solution. Constraints Disney The Disney Corporation, just like any other major organization or company, will have to face constraints. Constraints can lead to a decrease in growth and impact on the overall success of the organization. One of these constraints would be overspending on training or spending money on training that has already been completed or utilized. Not to mention, training allocates funds away from other areas of the corporation which could impact growth. A major constraint and more than likely the most relevant would be the allocation of funds to merchandise and other business ideas that do not yield a high rate of return. Disney Corporation reported a loss of approximately one billion dollars in this area. A well-structured financial plan along with a strong assessment of financial budgets will alleviate this issue.

General Motors Company The General Motors Company, just like any other major organization or company, will have to face constraints. But General Motors Company must abide by the United States Constitution of Laws, along with any state level laws depending on the state in which the building is located. Along with any locations being based in international areas or towns, local laws must be met and followed. Miami-Dade County Miami-Dade County, just like any other major organization or company, will have to face constraints. Miami-Dade County must also ensure they managing between the city growth, tax bracket and police/public safety within the community. Private Sector Techniques Disney Although Disney might be successful and expanding constantly, there is always room for improvement. This is just one of the ways Disney will continue to grow from generation to generation. Disney is extremely financially secure and will be able to continue various avenues of growth and expansion without the fear of entering bankruptcy or entering a state of profit loss. This allows the corporation to seek potential risk when the reward is low in hopes it will succeed in the future.

General Motors Company General Motors Company might be successful and expanding constantly, there is always room for improvement. The General Motors Company is a household name across the globe and will forever be that way for centuries to come. This is just one of the ways General Motors Company will continue to grow from generation to generation. General Motors Company is extremely financially secure and will be able to continue various avenues of growth and expansion without the fear of entering bankruptcy or entering a state of profit loss. This allows the corporation to seek potential risk when the reward is low in hopes it will succeed in the future. Miami-Dade County Miami-Dade County has many avenues to explore to grow and expand the organization even further for the community. Due to Miami-Dade County being a larger county within the State of Florida, funding and allocation of funds will be provided from both the state and federal governments. This allows Miami-Dade County to explore options that are currently implemented in other states and governments with the support of funding while also allowing the community to have a say what might be best for the community. Having an inside opinion or idea could be necessary due to the community seeing issues daily instead of when the government is notified rarely.
