How Do Great Leaders Inspire Action? Suman Tandukar (2231555) University Canada West MGMT 601, Leadership in the Global Context (HBD-WINTER 24-52) Dr. Sydney, Scott January 26, 2024 Leadership Introduction: A effective leader is one who can comprehend people's motivations and engage employee involvement in a way that connects individual wants and interests to the group's objective. Leadership is the fulfilment of a goal via the guidance of human assistance. (Prentice, 2004) How leaders Inspire Actions? (self-reflection) A good leader is one who has the ability to skillfully direct, encourage, and inspire others to achieve a shared goal. This calls for a mixture of compassion, flexibility and ability to inspire. These leaders spark actionable outcomes by providing their constituency with a clear vision, communicating it to them, and providing the necessary data, expertise, and techniques to make that vision a reality. (Riggio & Bass, 2006) I understand how critical it is to have the abilities necessary to lead, inspire, and encourage my team towards shared goals. Important aspects of leadership are empathy, adaptability, and inspiring abilities. After giving this some thought, I see how important it is to have a distinct vision and be able to explain it to the team in a logical manner. In my opinion, striving to provide the team not just the vision but also the knowledge, skills, and methods needed to convert that vision into observable and significant results. My continual commitment to successful leadership requires constant introspection and improvement of these leadership attributes. (Sinek, 2023) New perspectives that I have taken from this discussion: From the discussion with my classmates my awareness to the power of successful leadership was expanded, which is inspiring others by utilizing the Golden Circle structure and highlighting the importance of the "why," "how," and "what" components. I've seen the deep value of compassion in leadership, seeing that it creates a happy and productive place to work. For example Thivya Daias talked Reed Hastings taking break for such conversation for encouraging the employees. Furthermore, I gained the new insights about the importance of authenticity and positivity in the leadership style. While a positive leadership style not only boosts team morale but also generates a more inventive and collaborative work environment, authenticity is
the foundation for connection and trust. These attributes, which are highly correlated with long- term performance and employee happiness, are demonstrated by influential people like Oprah Winfrey. In summary, our class discussions have deepened my knowledge of effective leadership, with a focus on the Golden Circle structure, kindness, sincerity, and optimism. References Prentice, W. (2004).
