Consider the opportunity to apply for a position with a new organization. What would you like the employer to know about you? How does your Strengths Test accent your potential within that organization? Please clarify your response through examples. If a new company was hiring and I was going to apply for a new position with them there would be many things about me that I would like them to know. Similarly, I would like to know things about them, to know if they are a good company for me to join them for a job. In my opinion, the most important piece of information that the employer needs to tell me would be what qualities or skills that I have aligned closely with the role’s disciple. Therefore, before turning in a resume and a cover letter or sitting down for an interview I must break down how I fit into the positions. I would list skills, knowledge, traits, and experience. For instance, for someone who wants an accounting job they would need good math skills and the company would be able to see that they know the area of accounting. Another example for displaying a trait would be someone who wants a career in sales. They will more than likely have to travel if hired so they must show the company that they love traveling. The last example that I can give to explain how you can display your skills and knowledge is by showing a company experience. If you show them that you have prior experience in areas that are discussed in the description for the job then you are essentially telling them that you know what you are doing and want to build on the information you already know. The company is seeing what you already know or have accomplished and can continue to accomplish for them. I feel that by taking personality assessments, we can see what our strengths and weaknesses are, and understand what areas we will excel in and which areas we should avoid. I have taken a few personality assessments and find it very interesting how the results correlate with each other and describe my areas of intelligence correctly.
