Introduction to the Workplace
You are currently working as a centre manager in Bounce Fitness. As Centre Manager, you
work with the General Manager Human Resource, who leads and oversees the Human
Resources Department. Your duties in collaboration with the General Manager are report
checking and staff induction.
For report checking, you create and submit staff performance reports and set reminders for
deadlines and consultations through Gmail.
For staff induction, you and the General Manager Human Resources develop staff induction
plans for new employees. The General Manager Human Resources is to ensure that there is
sufficient background information on Bounce Fitness for staff induction.
During your most recent performance review, the General Manager Human Resource asks if
there is anything affecting the department’s performance in relation to workplace
collaboration. Based on your experience, you mention a difficulty in setting up reminders for
staff events, as well as delays in your own report delivery.
To improve performance, the General Manager Human Resource suggests that you review the
department’s current collaborative processes as well as the workplace documentation
relevant to these processes and see if there is anything within the processes that needs
improvements.

Task 3: Implement Digital Workplace Collaboration Technologies
This part of the project requires you to implement and use only one digital technology to
collaborate in the workplace. Specifically, you are required to:
Develop a plan to introduce at least one new collaborative technology, by assessing
short-term and longer-term goals and objectives
Communicate and promote key features of the plan to others, referring to
organisational strategies where relevant
Organise training and coaching for relevant personnel to maximise uptake and
effectiveness
Case Study Overview
Implementation
Now that you have identified suitable technologies for Bounce Fitness’s collaborative
processes, the General Manager Human Resources expects an implementation plan for
these technologies. This implementation plan is to be discussed with the key personnel
relevant to the collaborative processes, and the strategies found in this plan must be in line
with the organisation’s goals.
The General Manager Human Resources advises you to check with the key personnel for any
learning needs regarding the technologies. Should there be any identified learning needs,
you are to plan and organise training and coaching activities for these key personnel so that
their learning needs may be addressed.
For this assessment task, you will need to complete the following templates
•
Collaborative Technology Assessment
This template will be used for assessing
the recommended technologies against the organisational goals.
•
Implementation Plan
This template will be used in creating a plan for
implementing only one of the recommended technologies in the workplace.
3.1 Develop an Implementation Plan
