4. What is the best course of action for you to take in solving the problem? The best course of action I can take as a senior in my department is to ensure I communicate with my team anything that is being change. I want to make sure my team knows how to do their job effectively. 5. What is the best way for you to communicate this problem to the relevant individuals? The best way to communicate is through a meeting. Getting everyone on a call will be the most successful because that why everyone will have a change to intervene with their suggestions or concerns. I completely understand when you say it is cultural and attitudinal. I have experienced that myself. It can be difficult at time to overcome those barriers in addition to the age differences. I have learned that some people who have cultural differ or difficulties really want to resolve them and understand. They do not want to feel like the outcasts they want to know that they are doing things well or better than everything else. I have found that if I just talk to them, sparking a general conversation, then bringing up a challenge I may see. People become a lot more receptive. Sometimes it is a lot easier when not communicating in a group. People tend to not want to stick out or admit they are struggling when others are around. Some may not even realize they do not have a complete grasp of the change and get information from a coworker who has the information incorrect as well. When I change a task or give a task at work, I follow up individually on that issue to ensure what I communicated was actually what the employee received. It’s a lot of work but we’ll worth it in my line of business.
