Do the leadership skills and behaviors identified for improvement align with a specific question in the engagement survey? The behaviors and leadership abilities highlighted as needing development include ‘’encourage the heart’. The company struggled with leaders not giving the employees feedback and support. The employees feel as though they are not being appreciated for the work they contribute to the organization. leader gives others confidence, and the confidence that leaders give to their employees opens the door for employees to try something they have never done before (Kouzes &Posner 2017). The importance of encouraging the heart makes a major difference in an organization. Leaders are expected to assist and motivate their teams. A simple "Well Done" or "thank you" may go a long way in terms of motivating and energizing people. Everyone wants to be recognized for their efforts on behalf of the organization. You may boost people's spirits and inspire them to work harder by putting these principles into practice. As a leader it’s your duty to encourage employees to strive for higher performance standards and to aim to uphold the organization's mission and values. Another Focus area that needed progress was “Inspired a Shared Vision’. This specific focus area employees felt that the company mission, vision didn’t align with their job duties. Shared visions attract more people, sustain higher levels of motivation, and withstand more challenges (Kouzes &Posner 2017). Instead of feeling that they are carrying out ordinary duties that don't contribute to the greater picture, employees who are inspired by a common vision are better able to find a deeper value in their everyday job. Improving the vision and the mission of the company will give employees greater benefit in there and job and will increase job
satisfaction. Understanding why we care about things and why improving things in the future is essential for success requires taking a close look at the past. We may more easily see the future and motivate others to discover their parts in shaping it if we study and comprehend the past (Kouzes &Posner 2017). How will improvement in the leadership skills and behaviors you have identified positively impact the results in the next employee engagement survey? To implement a constructive mindset and create improvements The company must express appreciation for the contributions received. It is imperative for employers to promote employee engagement as this will not only improve employee morale generally but also provide favorable results in future surveys and company success. Satisfied workers who get encouragement and motivation are more likely to work harder and take pleasure in their work, which will be shown in their performance. If the company focuses on improving their vision and mission to implement the employees, then the overall improve employee retention and once again the success of the company. Kouzes, J.
