Greetings Class, I believe working for any organization can be ethically trouble because of diversity and different culture backgrounds people inherit as individuals. Some people follow different ethics and moral values and do not allows agree on the final decision, which causes an unhealthy work environment. Something as simple as common knowledge becomes extremely rare when problem solving situations arise. Some people may proceed with following the provided rules and policy, while other are more of the choose what is ethically right. As an example, in restaurant servers are forced on the daily to make ethically choice, or good cop, bad cop scenarios, which they must decide which one would benefit them more. Such as if a guest orders a cup of coffee at the end of their dining experience and the server has already printed and presented the guest with their bill; the server has two choices: one, charge them for the coffee and present them with a new bill following protocol, or just bring them the coffee as a courtesy, displaying an act of kindness. The server chooses option one they will be following company policy and be rewarded by staying employee, if they choose option two, they may be risking their job but receiving a better tip and experience from the guest. Making the ethical decision can be difficult but if you follow policy, the result should be clarified.
