The two perspectives that are presented in Chapter 2 are modern and post-modern. I think that post-modern is the most useful for informing and guiding organizational actions. Modern is scientific and looks at the world like it is fixed and always knowable (Stringer & Ortiz Aragòn, 2021). Post-modern has a different way to look at the social world so that we can see human experience in different ways. Post-modern gives us more ways to see and interpret, while modern is straight forward. Modern is unrealistic because the world isn't fixed or knowable. Lewin's idea of the 3-step model which is a change model resonates with my action research project the most. The 3-step model is unfreezing the issue, moving the issue to a path to fix it, and then refreezing it (Burnes, 2004). Lewin didn't plan on his models being separated but working together. Lewin had three elements which were a part of his planned approach to change (Burnes, 2004). Those three elements are Field Theory, Group Dynamics and Action Research. I think that's the future of action research, multiple strategies that work together. It'll be just like different people working together.
