Intro to Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Week 10 Responses Post 1 (Hepzibha) Thank you for the discussion post. I agree with you that blockchain should not be perceived as a job killer rather, it should be seen as an opportunity for the development of new jobs. I will respond to the following question from the discussion post: Do you think blockchain technology innovation brings new job opportunities if it is yes? What kind of new jobs is possible to open? Blockchain innovation will create new jobs such as finance and accounting careers in cryptocurrency, smart contract engineers, investment advisors in cryptocurrency, and cryptocurrency contentment marketing managers. There is an increasing fear that blockchain will take over the financial sector, however I presume that the finance sector will be more interested in using blockchain for security purposes. Post 2 (Praneeth) Thank you for the discussion posted Praneeth. I agree with you that developing blockchain technology can be very costly. I will respond to the following question from your discussion: How long do you think it will take the world to fully transition to blockchain technology? Considering the lack of expertise and costly investment requirements, I believe it will take close to half a decade for the world to fully transition to blockchain technology. This is not only because of financial and expertise concerns but also because of the government would also need time to develop policies and regulations suitable for the technology. Post 3 (Raof) Thank you for the discussion posted Raof. I agree with you that people will work side-by-side with blockchain technology. It will enhance service delivery, transparency, and efficiency. I will respond to the following question from your post: Do the traditional career sections gradually get
replaced with blockchain technology and global teamwork of computers? Although some repetitive jobs may be affected by blockchain technology, it will not replace customer facing operation. As blockchain replaces repetitive jobs, it will also create new job opportunities that require people to monitor and maintain these systems. This challenges people to gain expertise in relevant fields to ensure that as automation takes over, they still stand a chance in other job profiles.
