As a  health care manager , you will be responsible for creating a collaborative work environment. Your ability to communicate clearly and encourage teamwork will contribute to successful buy-in from your team. Respond to the following: What is the connection between effective teamwork and communication? What could you do an as employee to foster a more collaborative workplace?  What could you do as a manager to foster a more collaborative workplace? What examples of effective collaboration have you experienced? Why do you think those situations worked so well? .
Afternoon to all, sorry so late, the entire household is sick.   I come from a very large family, the baby of 14 siblings. In such a large group you'd think we'd have teamwork down packed, NOPE most of us were in trouble a lot! As with any team you have to communicate with each other, when we're all thinking independently and not sharing and getting feedback from each other hardly anyone is on the same page. If there is to be a "team", that comes to a collective path and solution we have to be willing to all take the good and bad and form it into a masterpiece. As an employee, I try to get along with everyone, somethings can not be forced. When there is friction on a team the wheels don't move as smoothly. As a manager I encourage the employees to try to come to a mutual understanding but if that is not possible the leader/supervisor to have a mediation or speak separately. I try to have an open door policy but know that all participants will be in my mediation with and sometimes they won't like how it ends. As "The Boss" employees always try to put on their best face but sometimes employees don't realize that even unseen, I always have an eye in the back of my head. There were two ladies one had been with the company 6 years the other less than two years they both were going for the same position. The first lady did get a higher job but she didn't have as much determination and no leadership skills. The second lady had several years of leadership skills and was very ambitious and had shown the desire to present her very best self. The result, first one didn't want to abide by the center's SOPs and employee handbook, she actually tried to fight the girl. It was such a fiasco and sheer disrespect for the entire center, she was terminated. I believe that I made the best decision rather the lady had seniority or not, if she doesn't come to work ready to work and shows pure interest in becoming a leader then next time should she apply and show some desire to elevate herself someone else more qualified will again fill that position.
