1 Leadership Style Self-Assessment Completing the leadership type preference self-assessment, my score was directive leadership 11, transactional leadership style 10, visionary leadership style 14, and empowering leadership style. From the assessment, I identify most with the visionary leadership style. According to Neck et al. (2017), visionary leadership is a leadership style in which the leader creates visions to inspire, motivate and stimulate employees. In addition, visionary leaders utilize charism to inspire their followers to share in their mission and expect them to commit and work towards achieving a common goal. Additionally, other people can receive visionary leadership styles differ based on factors like culture, context, and personality of the people involved. For example, some people can perceive visionary leaders as inspirational because they find them to have a compelling vision and want to join them to be the source of their inspiration ( Van der Voet & Steijn, 2020). Moreover, some people feel energized and motivated when they find leaders that offer clarity and passion for their purpose. Also, people can find visionary leaders to be innovative because they are always thinking out of the box to create new solutions for solving challenging problems. Lastly, some people can find visionary leaders charismatic since they are always present and can connect with others emotionally. Lastly, some strategies I will integrate to cultivate my visionary leadership style moving forward include; developing a clear vision of what I want to achieve. I will ensure that my vision is measurable, specific, and aligns with the company’s goals. I will also communicate effectively with the rest of the team; this implies I will use compelling and clear language to pass the message to the team and other audiences. I will also continue inspiring and motivating others to buy into the vision. I will accomplish this by offering incentives, sharing success stories, and creating a sense of urgency and excitement around the vision. References
