Competency 7
Competency 7- Assess Individuals, Families, Groups, Organizations, and Communities
7.1- Collects and organizes data, and applies critical thinking
Competency
7.1 is where the intern collects and organizes data and applies critical thinking to interpret information from clients and constituencies.
There are many different ways in which one could go about completing competency 7. Collecting information from a client using a client intake, needs assessment and/or other documentation is one task that an individual could use when collecting data. This is also one task that I have completed since being in my practicum. I have completed needs assessments with clients that have come in seeking services, but I have also completed a client intake with those that come in seeking services as well. Another task that I have done while being in my internship is describing a client’s situation or issue using an eco-map. Competency 7.2 is where the intern applies knowledge of human behavior and the social environment, person-in-environment, and other multidisciplinary theoretical frameworks in the analysis of assessment data from clients and constituencies. One task that I have done when it comes to this competency is reviewing as well as discussing human behavior theories that apply to clientele served. I have talked a lot with my clinical supervisor about these different human behavior theories and was explained more in detail how these theories play out with different individuals. Another task that I have completed during my practicum is discussing with supervisor areas on assessment that address human behavior, social environment, etc. and collect needed information for evaluation. This is something that I have done when conducting clinical assessments on clients to determine which level of care is appropriate for them. Also, talking

The company hires independent contractors to perform a variety of customer-focused tasks, such as complaint resolution, for its client, the financial services industry.
We get to know all of our contractors because, as the chief of staff puts it, "vetting of such contractors is very important because of the nature of our client's business. We've even watched contractors develop. We have one contractor with us today who started at 16 and is now a manager at 26."
The contractors are introduced to more than just the chief. Some of the contractors have been working with a customer for so long that if they leave, the crew must continue.
This company has 4,000 contractors and 226 full-time employees, so succession planning must take both into consideration.
When working with a contractor, it usually recommends to its financial services clients that they add the contractor to their at-risk registry.
The client will hire a full-time employee, and the contractor will learn new skills.
