February 7 th , 2022 Leadership Styles Assignment #1 Kim McVeigh CDP 205 – LEGISLATION & SOCIAL POLICY
Kim McVeigh CDP205 Assignment #1 – Leadership Styles The leadership style I received is the “Diplomat” style. Diplomat style leaders’ rate high in feeling and prize interpersonal harmony. Diplomats are the “social glue” and affiliative force that keeps groups together, with their kind, social and giving personalities. Diplomats are able to have deep personal bonds with their employees and are able to resolve conflicts peacefully, usually avoiding conflicts in the first place. This could leave some employees feeling bored in their current positions, yearning to try something new. Another area of need would be that since diplomats usually are extremely polite and friendly and try to avoid conflict, they may find it difficult to give challenging feedback to others. (Rooke & Torbert, 2005) This knowledge of my leadership style could be used to further develop my skills as a Child Development Practitioner, by MORE
