SAFMEDS Fluency Week One ABA 636: Figure 1.1 Yasamin Rezaei’s Fluency Standard Celeration Chart Table 1.1 Yasamin Rezaei’s Fluency Raw Data
Data Analysis: Figure 1.1 and Table 1.1 display the fluency data collected for the first week of this course while studying the fluency deck, which includes the definition (D) cards from ABA 620 through 634. Fluency accel data has zero trend, low variability, and high level. My last fluency timing of the week was 14 accel and 0 decel. My fluency data indicates my continued maintenance of the concepts and terms from previous courses. I forgot to enter my data each night, so my celeration chart looks wrong. Study Approach and Adjustments: I ran timings with only the fluency deck this week and used the same study methods during each timing. First, I separate the deck into 4 separated piles since the fluency deck is now too large to hold comfortably in my hands. I shuffle each pile of cards and begin reviewing them without the timer. I read through the entire deck at a moderate pace while at home. One stack is for cards that I can recall out loud without any difficulty. The second pile is for cards where I recalled the incorrect term, or it took me over a few seconds to say it loud. After I completed the first pile, I set the cards aside that I did not struggle with and reviewed the terms from the cards that I struggled with. After reviewing these cards, I add them to the 2 nd pile of cards from my fluency deck and repeat the previous steps. I do this for all piles of cards until I am left with only the cards I struggled with during the review. I review those cards until I retain the terms and prepare to run my first timing. This process typically takes around 30 minutes. I run three 30-second timings and record the timing with the highest accel. After I record my best timing of the day, accel and decel, I do this to ensure that I am recording accurate results, especially if I am unable to enter my timings immediately. I review my data daily before rehearsing with the cards to determine whether there is a downward accel trend or increasing decel trend or if the accel is positively trending or plateauing. Behavior: For my fluency deck, I run three 30-second timings and enter the best data point into Precision X. This is done for a minimum of 5 days. Consequence: I enter the data on precision X after my 30-second timing to keep track of recording my data. The following week, I’m looking at the data and deck to see if I meet the AIM by the end of the week or if there is variability in the data. Adjustment: I do not make any adjustments to my study methods. I maintained a decel of 0 for all my timings this week.
