Leadership Introduction
Nowadays, leadership is crucial for both personal and professional growth in today's competitive and challenging world. A strong sense of leadership will benefit anyone in the professional world, not only managers. Leadership is essential in the professional and personal worlds and can be exhibited by anyone at any level. As defined by leadership is "the ability to inspire confidence and support among people who are needed to achieve organizational goals (DuBrin, 2019)." Nevertheless, each individual has their own definition and style for leadership. A person's actions express leadership, not by their words. Getting decisions implemented in a timely and effective manner requires leadership. Leaders have the ability to identify the appropriate measures and plans to achieve the intended objectives or targets to approve the workforce (Khoshhal & Guraya, 2016). People often confuse these traits of leaders with those who are managers, CEOs, etc., but in essence, anyone can possess the attributes of a leader. Leadership is not the same thing as management. The best leader is expressed through their qualities, traits, styles, and skills on a daily basis. How to be an Exceptional Leader
Leadership is rarely ever the responsibility of only one person, but rather several individuals throughout the team (DuBrin, 2019). The main relationship that represents the best form of leadership is between the leader and the people being led. Each person of that team needs to step up as a leader in each department, especially if the manager or the head of the department is not there. Without good leadership, the whole business or department will fail. The

individuals can become more responsive and deal with many unexpected situations (Chaman et al., 2021). With the proper training of knowledge and leadership will help individuals become a more effective leader.
A genuine leader will express and exhibit the desirable qualities of honesty, competency, forward-looking, intelligence, fair-mindedness, courage, straightforwardness, imagination, and many more traits (Khoshhal & Guraya, 2016). Along with those traits, the greatest and most innovative leaders have strong judgment, sound communication, negotiation, and possess great confidence in skills to get the job done in a reasonably timely manner and standards (Khoshhal &
Guraya, 2016). In today’s society, there are many people who are followers and not leaders, which is causing a lot of problems in the workforce. With this problem, a lot of schools, parents, and work fields should teach children at a young age how to exhibit the proper traits to become a
leader and not a follower. Developing the appropriate leadership skills entails the process of capacity building to nurture the leaders in unforeseen challenges and unexpected complex situations (Khoshhal & Guraya, 2016). Leadership is often portrayed as a developmental feature for all employees, but it should also be for any individual (Kjellström et al., 2020). Leadership training is crucial for any age group and any individual, and these skills should be trained as early as children can talk.
Leadership Test Results
Any individual should be asked to take quizzes to exhibit what type of leader they are. In class, there were five quizzes that the students were asked to finish. The first quiz that was to be finished was 1-1: Readiness for the Leadership Role
, and the score that I got was an 87 (DuBrin, 2019). This score indicates that I am moderately ready for the leader role. Whereas my classmates were in the 91.21 range, which indicated they are more readily prepared as a leader

than I am. The following quiz performed was 1-2: The Leadership Experience Audit
, where I scored an 84 (DuBrin, 2019). Throughout my graduate program, I am learning to become the greatest leader that I can be in the field of forensic science. The score that I obtained showed that
I am moderately ready for the appropriate leadership role. The next quiz was 2-1: How Self-
Confident Are You?
On quiz 2-1, I obtained a score of 70 (DuBrin, 2019). This score was on a scale of less self-confidence to the highest self-confidence. The score that I had was a 70, which is where I portrayed a very high self-confidence with perhaps a tendency towards arrogance (DuBrin, 2019). Self-confidence is a key leadership trait, but so is humility which is a part of admitting that you do not know everything (DuBrin, 2019). Even the smartest people do not know everything, and they should always admit when they are wrong. The next quiz that I performed was 2-2: Behaviors and Attitudes of a Trustworthy Leader
, where I attained a score that showed I was more trustworthy than to where I was not (DuBrin, 2019). The more statements in this quiz that fit you indicates you are very trustworthy. Trustworthiness is an important trait to becoming a successful leader. The last quiz that I performed was 2-3: My Tendencies Toward Being a Proactive Personality
where I obtained a score of 86 (DuBrin, 2019). This score that I obtained indicated that I am in range of average tendencies towards being proactive. Leadership Building
Everywhere people can perform many activities to help make them successful in their leadership skills. Even the best leaders need more training to continue growing as a leader. In this exercise, there were two leadership skill-building exercises to help learn the stance of your current leadership roles. In the first exercise, you were asked in an indirect way to identify the aspects of leadership and the future activities to perform to create the best leader. The two

questions asked were “What’s really fun about your job?” and “What is the most satisfying aspect of your leadership position (DuBrin, 2019)?” With these questions asked, you are to observe whether or not they match those in the text. These responses will recover if the answers match those of the quizzes to indicate whether they are an excellent leader. The next building exercise performed was to select five of the traits, motives, and characteristics described in Chapter 2 that you think are exhibited (DuBrin, 2019). The five traits that I exhibit are self-
confidence, humility, trustworthiness, enthusiasm, and passion. Those traits are definitely essential for me, which help me to work towards becoming a great leader. After those are selected, you are then to choose several leadership traits, motives, and characteristics that you think you need to develop to enhance yourself as a leader (DuBrin, 2019). With the characteristics that I have, there are still ones that I need to work on. The traits that I need to work on are courage, extraversion, authenticity, sense of humor, and core self-evaluations. I will be able to become the best leader once I address the minor flaws in my leadership abilities.
Conclusion
Leadership skills are crucial in every aspect of human life, whether it is personal or professional. Unfortunately, many people mistake leadership as the skills of a manager or even any leader in the professional field. But, leadership skills are helpful for anyone and should be trained at a very young age. If people do not have good leadership skills in a professional aspect, then the whole business will fail. The quizzes that were performed are very helpful for any individual to teach them where they need to improve to become a better leader. Each skill in the quizzes is essential to become a great leader, especially self-confidence, but you do not want to be too self-confident where you are arrogant. There are many steps that each individual should take to learn the appropriate qualities of an excellent leader.
