Developing and Enhancing Relationships with Communities Through Outreach A Community Outreach Corrdinator (COC) supports criminal justice professionals by allowing them to maintain positive connections between police officers and the community in addition to offering support to the court system (Wyatt & Donini-Melanson, 2012). A COC should have promoting public safety as a key focus to enhance the community and be a support to all parties. According to United States Attorney's offices (USAOs) a primary benefit is the reduction of crime (Wyatt & Donini-Melanson, 2012). Better preosectutions, more successful preventative strategeis and success with with intervention programs may all be made possible by having a Community Outreach Coordinator.
