The problem was that we wanted to make the transfer experience at NOVA to be better. We felt that many students would put this off and where overall confused on transferring to 4-year institutions. The would be done by using a website. This website would take in students: major, preferred transfer institution, preferred transfer date, and classes taken. The website would take this information and create a schedule for the student to follow in order to transfer to the desired 4-year institution in a timely manner. There can also be a secondary schedule for the student to take if the student wants to take courses in the summer and if the student wants to take harder courses for a better education and not just to transfer. For the design process we started off by refining the solution. We felt that the website giving information on 4 college would be took much data gathering, so we decided to only use VCU and MMU. Then our group did research by gathering all course equivalencies for the colleges. For conceptualization our group created a flowchart on how the website would work. Then we started to think about how the website would look. After that we started to work on the presentation. Some challenges were organizing the course equivalencies, programing code without much experience, and identifying data aiding with the transfer for all institutions. I created the flowchart for the group. I also helped with the information that would be on the slides and made them more visually appealing. Our group work well with each other because the communication was very clear, and it was easy for us to reply to each other. We also know what each person was done, and we were never left in the dark with each other. I think we could have made a website because there was a period in the project where everyone was done with there task. I also felt that we could have practiced our presentation and start our presentation earlier.
