Computer Programmers
Computer programmers write, modify, and test code and scripts that allow computer software and applications to function properly.
Computer Systems Analysts
Computer systems analysts study an organization’s current computer systems and design ways to improve efficiency.
The IT field has always called me throughout my whole life. Searching Occupational Outlook Handbook
fields regarding programming specifically grab me. I am interested in working with databases and software, possibly being able to design expeditious pathways and or efficiency within the used programs.
The Computer Systems Analysts piqued my interest. This role falls within the Database career field as a Data Analyst. The purpose of the Data Analyst is to collect and analyze data to better advise business choices moving forward. Data Analysts typically have a superior understanding of math and statistics. They will use this knowledge to find current trends and styles within this data. Data Analysts can often work in multiple teams, sometimes sales and or marketing to assist in reading and translating performance results into reports to develop business processes. With the Computer Systems Analyst position uses the abilities of a Data Analyst to find trends and practices within the current systems and find ways efficiency can be improved. I personally always look for ways to work smarter and not harder. Being able to provide this skill set to possibly improve current practices and programs would be very fulfilling.
Data Analyst
A data analyst specializes in gathering and analyzing data to inform business decisions. They use their expertise in mathematics and statistics to find relevant trends and patterns in data. Data analysts often work with sales and marketing teams to analyze and interpret performance data, create reports, and recommend ways to improve company processes. Their work often focuses on extracting and mining Big Data, which is the vast amount of data that’s collected and
stored online.
