What are the differences between “data warehouse” and “data mart”? ( 4 points) The main components of business intelligence are data warehouse, business analytics and business performance management and user interface. Data warehouse holds data obtained from internal sources as well as external sources. The internal sources include various operational systems. Data warehouses typically store data from multiple business units. They centrally integrate data from across the organization for comprehensive analytics. Data marts have a single-subject focus and are more decentralized in nature. They often filter and summarize information from another existing data warehouse. Size: In terms of data size, data marts are generally smaller, typically encompassing less than 100 GB. In contrast, data warehouses are much larger, often exceeding 100 GB and even reaching terabyte-scale or beyond. Range: Data marts cater to the specific needs of a single line of business or department within the organization. On the other hand, data warehouses are designed to be enterprise- wide, spanning across multiple functional areas and serving the data requirements of the entire organization. Sources: Data marts draw data from a limited number of sources, while data warehouses have a more comprehensive scope, collecting data from a diverse array of sources. Data warehouses integrate information from numerous operational systems, applications, and external feeds to offer a holistic and comprehensive view of the organization's data landscape. 2

Another issue is inventory challenges due to the marketplaces are constantly changing. Here are some positive roles in resolving the issues, enhanced visibility, automation, and data analytics. Enhanced visibility: Advanced technology, like supply chain management software and IoT sensors, provides real-time visibility into inventory levels, shipment status, and production processes. This visibility enables better decision-making and timely interventions to address potential disruptions. Automation: Automation streamlines routine tasks such as order processing, inventory management, and demand forecasting. AI-driven algorithms analyze data, predict demand patterns, and optimize logistics, resulting in more accurate and efficient supply chain operations. Data analytics: Technology allows businesses to collect and analyze vast amounts of data from various supply chain stages. This data-driven approach helps identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement, allowing for data-backed decision-making. 3
