INFORMATION DOCUMENT Business S355 Joshua Snyder, Akshaya Mouli, Jack Bynum, Pat Stefurak December 10th 2023 Professor Collins A short description of your app and the problem it is solving (one paragraph). Our app targets the recurring Student issue of the fitness buildings and their efficacy. Our app focuses on the specific wait times for the sections of these buildings while also implementing data to show how packed each section is. These sections are the weight room, cardio room, and for the SRSC, the pool area. This app runs on employees who will be given tablets that they will use to record the levels of capacity in each section. They will be clicking on a rating of 1-5, 1 meaning not packed at all, and 5 meaning individuals will be waiting to use a machine for over 20 minutes. The app also includes a calendar mode to help employees at both the SRSC and BGF plan events and plan capacity for better flow and usage of the gym and other equipment. The goal of our app is to completely change the game for employees of the fitness centers here at IU and save students time when deciding if today is worth going or when the normal hours are less packed. A short description of the functionality found in your app (that is, what are the main operations a user can do in your app?). Users will be given the option of SRSC or BGF when they activate our app. When a building is chosen, an intuitive interface displays scores for each section, giving users insight into the quality of various areas. Users can also explore the Events section to learn about ongoing activities in each building. The software allows users to mark their favorite recurring events, ensuring simple access to their preferred activities. A list of the users implemented in your app and their credentials (that will allow for testing the app). 1) Student a) The Student will have access to limited features. In more detail, students will be able to sign up for events, view the capacity rating made by employees, and give their own feedback on these ratings. 2) Employee a) The employee will be able to create/edit events and create the capacity ratings. 3) Admin a) The Admin will have access to everything. They will be able to create/edit buildings, create/edit sections, create/edit employees, as well as edit permissions and security
Very short descriptions of at least two automations that you implemented in your app. - Our first automation is a microflow that will retrieve the first captivity ratings from the database using a microflow, and display them on the building pages, under their respective sections. - Our second automation is the tool we used to identify and retrieve events, and then display them on their respective building pages. Very short descriptions of at least three data validations that you have implemented in your app. -Our first data validation that we added to our app is making sure that employees can only enter in a rating numbered 1-5. IF they enter in a value greater than 5 or less than 1, the rating will not save. -Our second data validation that we added to our app is for the “Min” and “Max” attributes under the section entity, we made sure that Min must be equal to 1, and Max must be equal to 5. -Our third data validation that we added to our app is that the rest of the attributes under all entities are all required, because we need all of those attributes to keep our app functioning. A "cool feature" of your app, where you did some additional research and implemented something beyond the basics explained in the Learning Path. - Our “cool feature” that our team added to our app is the featured events list on the student building home pages. When employees are creating an event, they will have the option to feature/promote the event. We enlisted the help of the Mendix forum and other online threads to understand how to add this functionality to our app. One AI feature that you would like to see implemented in a future release of the app. This section must include a detailed description of the capabilities of the new feature (what can it do), value it will add (why should we do this) and specific AI technologies that will be needed to enable these features (how to do it). A feature we would like to add to our app is calculating the average value over time and calculating the future wait times for future days. The new capabilities of the app would be limitless with this feature. Additionally, it will add value as the app will now be able to predict live gym updates and future wait times and positions for the upcoming days. This will allow students to be able to effectively plan out the workout days before the week begins. This allows students to manage their time more effectively, as many students have classes and exams during the weekdays. Knowing the wait times for the gym will allow them to efficiently plan for the week accordingly.
