Written By: Battistich, Victor, Hom, Allen American Journal of Public Health. Dec1997, Vol. 87 Issue 12, p1997-2001. 5p. 2 Charts. https://eds-p-ebscohost-com.ezproxy.snhu.edu/eds/detail/detail?vid=1&sid=1a36580f-a623- 4946-8b96-06e8d8892fc8%40redis&bdata=JnNpdGU9ZWRzLWxpdmUmc2NvcGU9c2l0ZQ %3d%3d#AN=66034&db=bsu The article examines the   relationship   between   the students’ sense   of school   as a community   with their   involvement   in   problem   behaviors . That we expect there will be less problem   behavior with the students at  s chool where social context promotes bonding. The social context with the school is a wide range of students with different attitudes, different motives, and with different behaviors and increased attention, with future research it’s important determinant of the children's developmental outcomes. That no matter how the study was conducted there will always be more research on the subject, within the school system. I believe that they should’ve done wider research on kids in school ranging from K-12 rather than just focusing on grades 5-6. Bad behavior starts at an early age, and if we can try to correct it earlier rather than later, it would be better for all. A New Kind of Homelessness for Individuals with Serious Mental Illness? The Need for a "Mental Health Home". Written by: Thomas E. Smith, M.D. Lloyd I., Sederer M.D. (2015).
Context and Infrastructure 3 https://ps.psychiatryonline.org/doi/10.1176/ps.2009.60.4.528 " Home   is the place where/When you have to go there/They have to take you in.", Robert Frost. The article was written by the authors to explain how early mental health care was handled by using asylums. However, over the years the asylums that were “well run…developed into custodial care because of poor administration oversight, funding cutbacks, and social stigma” (Smith and Sederer, 2015). The article explains about the Community Mental Health Centers Act in 1963, which did not have much of an impact between the federal government to individual states due to cost, and because of the limited resources within the community. It includes decision making to treatment, along with skill development, as well as self- determination. With many individuals that has serious mental illness that are seeking a life in their community, as there are still individuals who are not receiving community-based care that they may need. I find the article relating to Community Psychology and Mental Health, it reflects focus on well-being of individuals with serious mental health illness. The article states that mental health is fragmented and complex, and I think that the use of mental health homes based on guidance with proper resources it can help us to defragment public mental health system and make it less complex.
