Project Title – Implementation of a Sustainable Waste Management System in XYZ
University Campus
Background
XYZ University has experienced significant growth over the years, and with this, there
has been an increase in waste generated. As a result, waste management on campus has become a
major concern for university stakeholders. The current system is inadequate and does not support
sustainable environmental practices.
Business Case
This project aims to establish and implement a sustainable waste management system that
will reduce the amount of landfill-bound waste produced by the university while promoting
environmentally responsible disposal practices.
Stakeholder Register
Please refer to Exhibit 6.4, as provided by their instructor's feedback from Problem Set,
for instructions on how to fill out the stakeholder register template.
Communication Matrix
Please refer to Exhibit 6.9, provided by their instructor's feedback from Problem Set, for
instructions on creating a communication matrix document (Adhi & Muslim, 2023).
Project Scope Statement
The focus of this project is primarily directed towards establishing separate systems for
collecting recyclable materials such as paper, plastic, and metal cans, among other items, within
the university premises, thereby reducing garbage accumulation around key points where they
are often disposed carelessly or at inappropriate times. They intend to install compost extractors
whereby organic matter can be separated efficiently, making it easier to manage bio-degradable

wastes instead of disposing of them like any other form of solid litter. This implementation will
benefit economically from the sale/reuse of harvested products, reducing money spent buying
new resources annually. Referring to the Business case section, this going-to-be implemented
strategy encourages minimalism and resource utilization efficiency by limiting wastage. Waste
production creates carbon footprints, increasing toxicity levels upon decomposition and bearing
negative environmental implications (Adhi & Muslim, 2023).
Having seen significant changing trends uptake eco-friendly lifestyles, they believe it is
high time they started contributing their quota toward protecting Mother Earth, thus creating
urgency in contemporary societies. In addition, laws supporting the introduction of independent
deposit control schemes demand conscious, proactive action against pollution activities. It is a
practical sense that innovations in technological advancement waste management systems rely
on renewable energy sources on the environmental front, aiming at enhancing the
implementation of enough motivation for strategic initiatives.
Deliverables with Acceptance Criteria
Please refer to Exhibit 7.4, provided by their instructor feedback from Problem Set, for
instructions on creating deliverables documents and acceptance criteria.
WBS with Activities List
Please refer to Exhibit 7.12, as provided by their instructor's feedback from Problem Set,
for Instructions on how best to compose the WSB activities list in correlation with the project
implementation timeline.
