Q1: STONEHENGE ENGINEERING WORKS:
Stonehenge Engineering
Works is a small company that specializes in complex engineering consulting
projects. Most Engineering projects need large data transaction. The
company is moving into new offices and ask you to design their data
communication network. They are going to have two divisions in two
different office sites in the same building, (two story office building)
Engineering division in the first floor :
They have a staff of 10 engineers
(which is expected to grow over the next five years. And, additional new 15
PCs will be needed ) and the Database for the product development.
Engineering division will be using 3D design and online collaborations tools
which require large bandwidth and fast data communication.
Management division in the second floor :
There are 20 management
and clerical employees who also need network connections, but whose needs
are less intense. This site has database for the clients as well.
All employees in the building should be connected via company intranet.
Q1 -1: Draw LAN network diagram for Engineering division to fulfill the
requirements
Q1 -2:Draw LAN network diagram for Management division to fulfill the

Q1 -3:Draw Backbone Network diagram to provide intranet connection to all
computers.
Clearly indicate whether you would use switch, router or gateway in the

Q2 GOLDSTAR BANK :
GoldStar Bank is helping companies to do money
transaction for their customers who holds their credit card (GoldStar Bank
Credit Card). Please consider the following parameters:
The Bank’s has one Data Center where it keeps all customer data
transactions. Data Center in a building in NYC.
GoldStar Bank has only one building in NYC where all employee
computers are connected to each other and the main database via
INTRANET.
The Bank’s database can be accessed remotely by the companies.
Currently, there are five companies accepting the GoldStar Bank
Credit Card in their stores. All, these companies are connected to
the GoldStar Bank Data center via Wide Area Network (WAN).
GoldStar Bank Data center has been proving service to the
companies via Wide Area Network (WAN).
There are five companies already accepting GoldStar credit card. And,
there are located at;
Miami FL Needs 2Gbp data speed to reach the GoldStar server in
NYC
Dallas TX Needs 20Gbp data speed to reach the GoldStar server
in NYC
Los Angeles CA Needs 40Gbp data speed to reach the GoldStar server in
NYC
Chicago IL Needs 45Mbp data speed to reach the GoldStar server
in NYC
Develop the Network Architecture diagram for this case by presenting Wide
Area Network (WAN) Model. In your network diagram, present the
followings;
1.
WAN Topology diagram on a USA map.
2.
In a table format, write WAN services for each company connection
that meets the data speed requirements
3.
All four sites and GoldStar Bank Data center have to have
connection to the internet. Show the connections to internet on the
same Network diagram
