SNHU 107 Module Three Journal Template Complete all parts of this template by replacing the bracketed text with your responses. Submit for grading and feedback. 1. Identify at least two SNHU resources that will help you most in prioritizing your time, and explain how using these resources will support your success. (Add bullet points if needed.) Office 365 o I personally like the office calendar to help me keep my schedule organized. I like the fact that it sends reminders so that I can stay on track with my schedule. The outlook calendar is something that I use to manage my personal and professional affairs, and I have began using it for my student career success as well. Peer Tutoring o I’m usually an independent worker and like getting things done without the distraction of others. However sometimes getting help from others that are knowledgeable and can relate to you is very helpful and may be vital to long term success. Although I’ve been able to manage my assignments without additional support, I do know that as time proceeds the assignments will become more demanding and I may need to use this resource more. 2. Identify at least two social supports (people, places, or things outside of SNHU) that will help you most in prioritizing your time, and explain how using these social supports will support your success. (Add bullet points if needed.) Parents o My parents are a huge support when it comes to balancing life with my daughter. My daughter attends a charter school in my parent’s school zone, so she rides the bus to and from my parent’s home daily. My mother is the most vital resource I have when it comes to ensuring that homework is done after school, dinner is cooked, and baths are taken. This allows me to stick to my schedule for my schoolwork in the afternoon by coming in and spending at least two hours on my schoolwork each day before going home. My parents are also huge motivators when it comes to staying on track. My goal is to graduate with at least a Cum Laude honor, so this is a resource I value. Coffee Shop & My Home Office o My home office, Starbucks, and the Coffee Shop in the Books A Million store are three places that really put me in the “work and focused” mindset. It’s something about the energy of these places that really allow me to focus on my task and get them done. I’m usually able to take advantage of it on the weekends or if I work remotely. It allows me to stay focused and get my reading done. 3. There is a Learning Community available in this course. This community offers you the opportunity to: Meet virtually with classmates Join study groups and clubs Connect with tutors and writing coaches Practice the skills you need to succeed
Identify two opportunities the Learning Community offers that will help you feel a sense of belonging here at SNHU, and explain how they could help support your success. Join study groups and clubs. o This is a great opportunity to feel a sense of belonging and connection to the SNHU experience. I think it supports the idea of long-term success by connecting with other students, learning from them, and holding each other accountable to our goals. Connect with tutors and writing coaches. o This opportunity gives a chance to get help in the subject areas that need most attention. The one-on-one interaction and support let you know that you are not on an island by yourself. I think that alone will help not only myself, but other students be successful with their programs. 4. Explain how you will take ownership of your future academic success by prioritizing your time with SNHU resources, social supports, and Learning Community opportunities. I plan on taking ownership of my future academic success by managing my time. Ensuring that I continue to plan out my week and schedule my work time for schoolwork. I will also continue to take advantage of the support that I receive from my parents and manage my schedule around that support. I also know that the resources provided by SNHU are there, and it is my responsibility to take advantage of them. As I advance in my student career I will reach out when I need help and maximize my productivity by taking advantage of the tutoring and writing support that’s offered when I find myself struggling in a specific subject area.
