The Video Assignment - Unit 2-Stemplots, Unit 3-Histograms, Unit 5-Boxplots: Against All Odds Student Video Responses Name: Genesis Terrazas Student ID: A00278079 Take out a piece of paper and be ready to write down answers to these questions as you watch the video. Use Blue colored text for your responses . Please be sure to answer question and use complete sentences. After watching the video for unit 2, list some of the variables that were taken on soldiers for the sizing data bank. We discovered the soldier size database needed to be updated after seeing the unit 2 video. They had to randomly select 12,000 active-duty soldiers to update the database and obtain precise information regarding military sizing. Weight, height, breadth, and depth were a few measurements made on soldiers for the size data bank. According to the video, they also reportedly took three scans of the subjects' feet, heads, and entire bodies. They were forced to take this action due to the gradual increase in body size over time. After watching the video for unit 2, what was the overall shape of the distribution of soldiers’ foot lengths? About where was the center of the distribution? We gained a deeper understanding of the general distribution pattern of soldiers' foot lengths after viewing the Unit 2 video. The data was first organized in stem plots to comprehend the measured data. The peak of the values and the distribution center, 26 cm, are the most frequently occurring values. Except for one number, the distribution generally appears to have a symmetric stem plot, according to the video. After watching the video for unit 3, why were a few values in the second lightning histogram called outliers? We studied outliers after viewing the Unit 3 video. The second lighting histogram contained a few values that deviated from the distribution's form. These are known as outliers because the value doesn't fit in the data and changes the distribution's form. After watching the video for unit 3, when you choose the classes for a histogram, what property must the classes have if the histogram is to be correct? The "width of the intervals along the horizontal axis" is the property that the classes should have when selecting them, according to the unit 3 video, for the histogram to be accurate. After watching the video for unit 5, what name do we give to the value for which one-quarter of the data values falls at or below it? We studied quartiles after viewing the Unit 5 video. The value at which one-quarter of the data values lie at or below it is referred to as a quartile. Quartiles separate the data.
After watching the video for unit 5, what numbers make up a five-number summary? The minimum, first quartile, median, third quartile, and maximum are the numbers that comprise a five-number summary, respectively. The five-number summary helps show the extent of the data collection. After watching the video for unit 5, how do you calculate the interquartile range? Sort the data in ascending order of value from smallest to largest before calculating the interquartile range. Next, determine the first and third quartiles. The difference between the first and third quartiles is the interquartile range or IQR. For instance, the IQR should be eight if the first quartile is four and the third quartile is 12. After watching the video for unit 5, boxplots show that poultry hot dogs as a group differ from all-beef hot dogs. Compare the distribution of calories between the two types of hot dogs. In contrast to a stem plot or a histogram, boxplots do not provide as much detail, but they help compare a few distributions, according to the Unit 5 video. The hot dogs made with chicken have fewer calories than those made with 100% beef, as seen in the video. The poultry group's median value is also displayed, which is lower than the all-beef hot dog's minimum value.
