The success of this business was based on targeting low income groups and its publications

objectives.
Up to 8% increase on capital within 2 years
Implement a transformational transformation of the company that will convert all journals to a
digital format only.

compliance, diagnosis and address gaps, looking for resistance pockets
There is no one way that fits every organization to change, but there is a set of principles, tools,
techniques that can be adapted for various reasons. There is a list of 10 guiding principles for
change management.
• Addressing the human side systematically:
Approving change management by beginning with
the leadership team and then stakeholders. The approach should be based on a realistic assessment
of the organization's history, reality and ability to change.
• Start at the top:
Once the change is in the horizon, the eyes of the employees will be turned to
the CEO, and the management team for strength, support and direction. Everyone - The CEO and

The expression of a formal case for change and the creation of a written
vision statement are invaluable opportunities to create or force leadership-team alignment.
• Build Ownership:
Involving people in identifying problems and devising solutions often
creates ownership.
• Communicate the message:
Communication flows from the bottom and from the top and is
targeted to provide the right information to employees at the right time and resolve their input and
feedback.
• Assess the cultural landscape:
A thorough cultural diagnosis can assess organizational
readiness for change, bring major problems to the surface, identify conflicts and define the factors
that lead to leadership and resistance. Can identify and influence sources.
• Address culture clearly:
Leaders must be clear about the culture and underlying behaviors that
will support the new way of doing business and seek opportunities to model and reward those
behaviors. This requires a basic development, defining a clear end-state or desired culture, and
preparing a detailed plan to make the transition.
• Prepare for the unexpected:
Managing change effectively requires constant reevaluation of its
impact and the willingness and ability of the organization to adopt the next wave of change.
• Talk to the person:
Teams of individuals need to know how they work during and after the
change program, what is expected of them, how they will be measured, and the success or failure
in and around them What will be the meaning of Team leaders should be as honest and clear as
possible.
After the implementation of the change management plan, employees will have to follow a
difficult process to work to adopt new changes.
Change Management Strategy:
• Email Campaign
• Display Support Tools
• Brown Bag Launch
• Power-user network
• Process Ownership
• Stakeholder alignment

educate and inform everyone as necessary. This change is good because it will be based on meeting
the needs of the organization.
Samson analyzes the media's impact on organizational objectives according to magazine publication /
online magazine readership trends and scenario information. A PESTLE analysis is performed to
analyze the trends.
PESTLE ANALYSIS - Online and magazine publishing
Political
The copyright and confidentiality of the material used should be carefully scrutinized before
publication. There is not much political impact on the industry.
Economic
Customer income is a major factor, the spending habits of customers in digital media, intense
competition in the market.
• Increase in digital membership
Social
Samson Media will have to focus on one niche market - the suggested market is young people.
BSBINN601 Lead and Manage Organisational Change LEE NALL LAI MEI1643 • Members are more prone to posting online like Facebook and Twitter which can help
promote the magazine online (and more online platforms)
• Technology
• Continuous changes in the digital market such as the ability of the user to subscribe.
• Media platforms that use subscribers, changes in technology such as software compatibility
and new gadgets are to be released.
• Internet is widely available, giving readers more inclination for online or digital platforms.
• Ordinary people are more into online reading than reading hard copy.
Legal
The legal factor in the publication covers copyright infringement and privacy issues.
Atmosphere
Continuous printed magazines. It can be said that in the interests of the organization to avoid the harm
caused by the environment, due to which carbon emissions can be eliminated by the factories of
suppliers, for example, printing paper production. Therefore, keeping it green in publishing is one of
the policies that Samson Media is focusing on by reducing the percentage of carbon emissions and
increasing e-book sales.
"Go Green, Stay on Screen - Slogan by many organizations around the world"
In addition to the PESTLE definition, there are general trends to consider in analysis to expand the
understanding of the method to mention a few:
• Profitability depends heavily on marketing expertise
• Challenges include reliance on advertising for revenue
• Online magazine readers spend more and are more likely to post on social media
• Digital subscriptions are growing
Environmental awareness (social responsibility)
The organization will follow environmental awareness to be part of the "caring for environmental
group". By moving to screens that are already a step towards becoming a stewardship for the
environment, which is no longer printing papers that are normally coming from trees and releasing
less factory emissions.

Logic for Change Digital Marketing
May end up in niche market- ensuring that it remains comprehensive by monitoring the
membership and extent of publication
Competition from brands specializing in digital magazine - Buyers cannot buy - may lose
their revenue Include high quality content to neutralize the impact of stiff competition -
Priority of risk 1
Incorporating new types of content for the magazine, it may not be liked by loyal customers -
as customers will not engage with it and therefore there will be no brand recall, inform
customers about new features so that they are ready - Risk Priority 2

the biggest motivation for employees. One on one meeting with each staff to resolve any concerns to

A series of communication activities associated with the change process were conducted:
Weekly staff meeting
Newsletter updates via staff email
Employee Seminar
Employee training
Survey:
1.
Experience of the change management process
: While management attempts to
communicate and be as open as possible, I still fear the unknown.
2.
Opposing Change:
Not personally opposed to change. There is no point in resisting change
3.
Because it is unavoidable
: The best thing to do is to try to understand what it is and put
yourself in the best position to achieve whatever needs to be done.
4.
Communication
: There needs to be an open line of communication from top to bottom. We
get more information from rumors like we do from owners and this is something that is sad
and not healthy. You need to give employees a general overview of what is going on.
Recommendations
BSBINN601 Lead and Manage Organisational Change LEE NALL LAI MEI1643 1. Take initiative to improve your process:
- It is also important to share the communication
workload so that it is easy to manage and maintain. One way to do this is the process improvement
champion who is ready to share 'Tip of the Week' with users.
2.
Make employees accountable:
- To make employees accountable, many organizations have set up
a dedicated time slot to carry out process related tasks.
3. Understand that there will always be room for improvement:
- To maintain engagement with
process improvement initiatives, organizations are required to recognize that work will never happen.
4. Encourage Collaboration:
- To demonstrate this, some businesses conduct cross-functional
process improvement brainstorming sessions to get teams out of the box about process improvement.
5. Upskill your employees:
- Train employees right from the start as part of the new hire induction so
that the process management discipline, as well as their expectations, is clear to you.

BSBINN601 Lead and Manage Organisational Change LEE NALL LAI MEI1643 ASSESSMENT TASK 2
PROJECT
PART A: PREPARE FOR THE PRESENTATION
This paper presentation aims to change the strategic objectives of Samson Media and its benefits and
business sustainability.
Currently, Samson Media is a publisher of fashion magazines targeting upmarket readers with strong
connections to high-end fashion houses, who also provide advertising revenue to Samson Media by
featuring their products in their magazines. Most of his readers are women, and are in the age group
of 35 to 54 years.
Unfortunately, readership has seen a steady decline for the past two years due to competition with
other fashion-focused magazines and the transition to digital media. In addition, a 20% drop in profit
and a further drop in share price have also been observed.
The various issues, costs, and challenges that Samson Media is experiencing in their current positions
are analyzed, and discussed with change experts when applying the PESTLE analysis method in
creating change management planning for Samson Media.
The main goal of the Change Management Plan is to increase the return of capital by 8% within the
next two years. And the secondary goal is to revive the company's journals by transitioning to newer
and more relevant content, as well as the traditional digital medium to the modern printed platform.

BSBINN601 Lead and Manage Organisational Change LEE NALL LAI MEI1643 PART C: REPORT AND UPDATE PLAN
Introduction
There are three main factors to consider before the execution of a change management plan for
Samson Media. The first factor is to formulate a strategic plan, which will help in achieving viable
objectives and, in turn, achieving business stability. The second factor is to create new directions for
business operations by migrating and upgrading their current forms and formats to digital platforms.
Moreover, finally, to look at the cost implications that come with the implementation of the change
management plan.
Samson Media
is the publisher of several upmarket fashion magazines. It has strong links with many
high profile fashion houses whose products are featured in magazines and also provide an essential
source of advertising revenue. The readers of the magazines are mainly 35 - 54-year-old women.
Reader numbers have declined over the past two years. This is mostly due to competition from
consumers switching to other fashion magazines and digital media. The decline in readership led to a
20% drop in profits and a fall in the share price.
As a result, a new CEO, Aamir Johnson, has been appointed. Amir was a former marketing director
for a famously successful media business that included a national newspaper, magazines, and a
subscription television channel. The success of the business was based on targeting low-income
groups and its publications focus primarily on sports and celebrity gossip. They were also successful
because they were able to subdue their rivals with lower prices, capable of achieving a higher level of
efficiency from a ruthless approach.
Occupational sustainability
The new CEO, Amir Johnson, with his team of managers has developed a strategic plan that includes
the following objectives to ensure Samson Media's business sustainability.
a. Increase in return of capital
The first objective is to increase the return of capital to 8% in 2 years. The decline of readership in
recent years has resulted in a return to capital. This is due to the costs of running the operations of the
publishing business. Especially in printing and distribution, while remaining uniform and decreasing
profitability due to a lack of subscription.
B. Digital transformation

BSBINN601 Lead and Manage Organisational Change LEE NALL LAI MEI1643 Another reason for the decrease in readership is the migration of readers from printed media to digital
platforms. Most, if not all, readers like to browse and read while coming to and from their workplaces,
which means that the reading is complete through their phones and digital devices. The advancement
of digital technology has plagued printed media, and until Samson transforms media to a digital
platform following the trend of converting and elevating, business sustainability is at stake.
C. Decrease in running cost
The current cost of Samson Media is as follows. All employees are full-time permanent employees
and their total salary cost per year is $ 3,370,000.00. The cost of running the printing and distribution
site and staffing costs, is currently around $ 1,500,000 per year. The current office rent is $ 500,000
per year. Will save approx
$ 1,500,000 per year on migration from print to digital platforms. Moreover, later, the cost reduction
can be achieved by a reduction in office rent that can be achieve by reducing office space.
D. Office transfer
Although relocating and reducing office space will reduce running costs per year, we have to accept
that costs will be included during the relocation process, including hiring movers and transporters.
Additional costs may also arise from employee allowances when employees arrive and assist in
packing and document sorting procedures before the actual transfer, as well as unpacking on
rehabilitation.
A new direction
The new magazines have the following features that will increase readership.
a. New material
First, the new magazines will focus on health, beauty, fashion and celebrity gossip. Health is an
essential part of being happy and what comes next is beauty because society nowadays is a difference
of health and beauty. Fashion will also be a relevant point at which most people trend too much and
use shopping as stress therapy. Celebrity gossip, on the other hand, is something that most of the
society is eager to know. It can be anything about who is dating, who appears to be so and so celebrity
on the hot spot, as well as movies, drama series, gigs, tours and concerts that involve celebrities and
artists .
B. Contribution
Another way to increase revenue from readership is to have a teaser in the form of free content,
offering full access on a subscription basis. This is clearly noticeable in an app like Spotify, in which

BSBINN601 Lead and Manage Organisational Change LEE NALL LAI MEI1643 subscribers get to pick and choose the music they like and save those music to a customized playlist at
a minimum monthly fee.
C. Additional features
Additional features such as video clips, podcasts and discussion are value-added content that will
encourage subscriptions and in turn increase the readership of magazines. The reason for this is that in
the digital age readers prefer interactive content. In addition, the level of relevance of digital content
can be updated and uploaded at frequent intervals.
PESTLE analysis
The PESTLE analysis method is used to explore potential benefits, risks, as well as potential
constraints from each of the factors, as well as recommendations for reducing and mitigating factors.
