As you have learned in the content of this unit, you need to plan for that interview. As Benjamin Franklin once said, “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.” Considering the importance of a successful interview, planning for it should be a top priority. Please respond to the following in complete sentences: Select one (1) strategy you plan to use during the interview, using the dropdown menu. The dropdown menu includes the following, use this list to select your strategy if you are unable to use the dropdown: Research the company to learn the employer's needs Identify potential problems you can solve Prepare for potential objections the hiring manager might have Plan how to demonstrate the elements of P.R.I.C.E. in the interview Decide which soft skills you want to share during the interview Practice responses to difficult questions you might be asked Plan the questions you wish to ask the interviewer 1. Explain the purpose of the strategy you have chosen (Include 1 external source in your response). When searching for jobs on indeed, I read questions and it stuck to me that even if it could feel overwhelming, it's crucial to seize this chance. In addition to assisting, you in determining whether the position is a good fit for you, asking yourself questions can help you convince the hiring manager that you're a good fit for their business. 2. How will this strategy lead to a successful interview? An employer will be searching for traits like enthusiasm, interest, and engagement, all of which are demonstrated by having a list of questions prepared for the interviewer. Additionally, it's your last opportunity to emphasize your relevant skills and expertise even more. 3. Describe two actions you will take in using the chosen strategy. (Include 1 external source in your response). a. Action 1 I will carefully examine the job duties to be sure I understand the tasks and hand and that I can fully operate those tasks each day on the job. b. Action 2 Do a mock interview with family/friends to prepare and be challenged.
List two (2) questions you plan to ask the hiring agent during the interview. Question 1: What is a typical day like? Question 2: What options are there for advancement and training? 1. For each question, describe why you chose to ask it. a. Question 1 I chose to ask this question because it allows you to gain as much knowledge as you can about the position. You can determine whether the role is suited for you and what experience and abilities are required based on the interviewer's response. If you are offered the position, the response will help you understand what the company expects of you, so there won't be any shocks when you start. b. Question 2 Asking about prospects for growth shows the interviewer that you are genuinely interested in advancing your career and are dedicated to staying with the company. If you're not sure what a normal career path for someone in this role is, asking this question will help you determine whether you can stay with the company for the long run or if you'll need to move on to take on more responsibility. After all, you don't want to be stuck in a dead-end job. 2. For each question, explain how the question relates to your chosen career field. a. Question 1 This relates to my current job because I asked this question when I was being interviewed to get a clear sight on what I would be doing or at least a gist of it all. I wanted to be sure I was comfortable with the day-to-day operations. b. Question 2 This relates to mu current because I have the ability for growth and more opportunities within my organization and department. Giving this step motivates me to want to do more and be excited for myself in the process.
