Replace the bracketed text below with your responses.
Identify the topic you chose to explore:
•
The Chernobyl Incident
Identify a historical perspective that could be applied to your historical event.
•
The safety aspects that we can derive from the Chernobyl incident and the scientific lessons we
can learn from the event.
Revise your research question based on evidence from your primary and secondary sources.
•
Though thirty-six years have passed since the incident, the disaster still has an effect of humbling
to many. With the search for new more environmentally friendly energy sources, would it not be
in our best interest to revisit the shortcomings of our predecessors?
•
As analysis is conducted on the area how can we take the knowledge collected and learn to
apply the studied areas to designated. In addition, how can we scrutinize the safety
shortcomings of the initial incident and apply the lessons to our day-to-day life.
Explain how historical perspective and evidence from sources influenced your finalized research
question.
•
The lessons learned from the failures of the past are absolutely needed as we progress into our
futures. Even through the devastation of the Chernobyl incident, we can draw knowledge from
the event. Learning new perspective in the medical use of radiation. Analyzing the time lapsed
information of the area we can draw up future plans and safety schematics for hazard areas
based on the cases they are being applied to. As George Santayana said, "Those who do not
learn history are doomed to repeat it".
