Revolutionary_War The American Revolutionary War, often simply referred to as the Revolutionary War, was a war of independence fought by American colonies against British colonial rule. The Treaty of Paris in 1783 oﬃcially ended the war and recognized the independence of the United States. The war's impact was profound, as it established the United States as a new nation and inﬂuenced democratic movements worldwide. The Revolutionary War also produced several inﬂuential figures, such as Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, and John Paul Jones. Thomas Paine's pamphlet "Common Sense" played a significant role in rallying public support for the American cause. In conclusion, the American Revolutionary War was a struggle for independence and self-determination that resulted in the birth of the United States. It was a complex and transformative period in history, marked by bravery, sacrifice, and the pursuit of liberty. The legacy of the Revolutionary War continues to shape American values and ideals.
