1.    Jillian took 2 classes last term and she passed both of them successfully. She is taking 2 classes this term, but her work schedule changed and now she is struggling to keep up. She is so far behind in her one class that she thinks she will withdraw from one of her classes this term. She is worried that by not successfully completing one class, that she will not meet the SAP requirements and will be placed in “warning.”  a.    Does Jillian need to worry?   It all depends when and how Jillian plans on withdrawing from the class. She might not have to worry about being places in “warning” if she follows proper protocol and procedures. b.    Explain why or why not. Jillian should not worry if she plans to withdraw from the class before the third week of her semester. She also needs to submit a request to withdraw from the class to the Enrollment. Service Staff. However, if she does not submit the request prior to the third week of the semester and request to the Enrollment Service Staff she should worry about not meeting the SAP requirements and being place in “warning” c.    Which SAP criterion relates to this scenario?   The SAP criterion that may relate to this scenario is the quantitative standard. 2.    Robert has taken three classes so far. Each class has been a 3 credit hour class. In his classes, he has received two Bs (which calculates as a 3.0/class for purposes of his GPA) and one C (which calculates as a 2.0 for purposes of his GPA). Robert recently learned that there is a minimum GPA needed for him to remain in good standing. He asks you if you think he is in good standing, or if he should be worried.
a.    What is Robert’s cumulative GPA? To calculate this, add his GPA for each of his classes and divide by the number of classes he has taken. Robert received two B’s which equivalent to 3.0 each making them 6.0; on his third class he received a C which equivalates to a 2.0. Summing them all together makes it a 8.0, then divide that by 3 (classes) his GPA becomes a 2.7. b.    Should Robert be worried about meeting SAP? Robert should not worry about not meeting the SAP. c.    Explain why or why not. He should not worry because his GPA is above 2.0. d.    Which SAP criterion relates to this scenario? The SAP criterion that relates to this scenario is the qualitative standard which requires students to reach a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher. 3.    Jared struggled academically the past two terms. Last term, he received notification that he was placed on “warning” because of not making adequate progress. Unfortunately, things did not improve this term and he recently discovered that he has been terminated. Despite this news, he said that he isn’t too worried because he is only academically terminated, and his financial aid won’t be affected. He also said he is planning to enroll next term and get things back on track with his current degree. a.    What is the status of Jared’s financial aid?
Along with Jared’s academic termination form EGCC his financial aid is also terminated. b.    According to SAP policy, when is the earliest Jared is eligible to re-enroll? According to the SAP and the consequences of not meeting its requirements Jared is not eligible to re-enroll until one whole year. c.    What would Jared need to do before he can be re-enrolled? Before he may re-enroll Jared must request for readmission by completing a Consideration Request Form to the Chief Academic Officer. This is evaluated and it does not guarantee re-admission. d.    Once Jared is re-enrolled, can he remain in the same degree program, or does he need to select a new program? If Jared is re-enrolled to EGCC he needs to change and choose a new degree program. 4.    Using APA formatting, please include a citation of the course material for SAP that assisted with completing this assignment.
