The influx of unskilled Irish immigrants into New York City in the 1840s and early 1850s drives down wages for other workers at the low end of the salary ladder.
In the telling of this scenario, an economic lens is being used because it describes the cause of
an event and its effect on changing wages and salaries for others. This sentence tells about the
effect of an influx of Irish immigrants though an economic lens as their effect on the econ-
omy and other citizen's economic situations.

This scenario is told though a political lens because it teaches about an event in history that changed a political leader in Rhode Island and how that came to be. It tells that the Québécois
had influence in politics in Rhode Island in 1908 and how that affected the outcome of an elected governor.

In this scenario, a religious lens is being applied as it tells about the effects of Catholicism in America due to Irish immigrants. It tells that Irish immigrants and their children had a great influence in the American Catholic Church at that time.

cois women at the time and their shared experience of immigrating to the United States.
